Awful QUIET in the desert

Perhaps they have had it. West ops will be sold to NWA, east will be broken up and sold to other carriers/shut down .... executives will make their millions and finally the USAir name will finally go into history.

West ops sold to American and are stapled. East ops stays as is and doubles in size.

West ops sold to Air Tran. East ops merged into UA. Shuttle sold to CO.

I have no experience with AWA, but it sounds like AWA was to US what US was to PSA and PI.

The fall-off in service and operational reliability after the PI/US merger was appalling. Management lost operational control of the airline twice, and frontline grunts pulled it out of the nosedive.

Sounds like more of the same. Except the troops aren't gonna go to the mats this time.

Well, this time, I actually feel like I am working for a bizarre cult or something. You are correct. The back of my skull is numb.
You're lucky and smart dude!
My respect to you and good luck in your future endevors!

This is the way I wish things would turn out. Except I would say keep the shuttle... Co already has too much of NY wrapped up.. Sell the west to NWA or AirTran and the east to UA - the east would be so much happier under the UA works rules and product ( not that its anything to brag about ) is much better at UA and the USAIRWAYS folks would be happy with it.. Although those mullets might not like wearing ties again. LOL. Something is in the works folks, things are just to quite for all the chaos going on in the company right now.

Whatever happens here I pray to the airline gods that the 9th floor residents in Tempe won't stick us with the NWA management team. They slash and burn union jobs, collect fat bonuses on the backs of their employees, and now their operation is in worse shape than ours.
I highly doubt NWA or ANY other carrier can match the screwed up, unreliable and despicable operation that US puts out on a DAILY basis. (I fly NWA regularly and have NOT had issues......here, Don't Go there!)

Northwest cancels more than 10% of flights again

I would say that is just as bad or worse than our "despicable" operation. The thing that makes it stink even worse is that NWA management ends up blaming the pilots instead of their own lack of competence. My friend's cell phone rang everyday trying to get him to fly after he contractually timed out on reserve on the 20th of last month.

Please patron saint of aviation mergers, don't let us combine with NWA.

Thank you.

This actually may be right on target according to some things discussed with a member of VERY senior management (S.K.) in the aft galley flying from ORD to PHX today. Personally, I could not believe the amount of information that was being shared with us and getting that information straight from the top! Bye-bye Philly  However, I really do think that you are going to like who you are going with (hint, start humming Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue").

Hint for "Westies", start thinking "Orient". 😱

Stay tuned everyone because the proverbial "cat" is about to jump out of the bag and, from what we were told, it is going to happen very soon! 😛h34r:

I have to confess its 0350 on the west and going to work. I havent had my coffee and brain is not engaged(even if it was Im into classic rock and alot of the alternative-no classical) so please give more subtle hints. Sorry if Im clueless. Regards, Momma

You naive moron.

S.K., as you so cleverly call him, would be fired for sharing strategic plans of that sort with the likes of you. It may even be against federal securites law. If he did say it, it is called DISinformation.

Bye-bye Philly

Yes, S.K. is letting you know in no uncertain terms that PHL, the biggest moneymaker on the system, is going "bye-bye." Were you hiding under a rock the day God gave out the brains?

Who is S.K. and what are they doing up this late..lol

Come on spill your guts, they got a golden chute anyway's.

I just KNEW that this would be the tone of the first reply from what I wrote coming from an arrogant, entitled, know-it-all Eastie! I considered not posting it at all because our entire crew was surprised to hear first hand this information and be privvy to such specific information. We even joked later if anyone served Scott too many minis or if he had been in the airport bar before the flight. Loose lips sink ships!

Now when I say Philly is going "bye-bye" I did not mean dismantled (maybe you were the one under the rock the day God gave out brains!).

< leaving out the innuendos >

We were told, I am not kidding, that Philadelphia is being sold to UAL and the rest of the company was going to merge with NWA.

I am just telling you what we heard, first hand, from Scott Kirby yesterday enroute from ORD to PHX. Oh, by the way, because he rebooked to an earlier flight back to PHX, he was assigned a crummy middle seat for the flight home. Poetic justice  If Scott Kirby is fired for sharing this information with us....well even MORE poetic justice!!  I am only writing here what we were told, nothing more, nothing less. If you have a problem with that nycusdriver then pop a blood vessel to your brain and put yourself out of commission permanently. Poetic justice to the max!!

Now, I never said I believed it (I don't believe anything I hear around the workplace...even from the President of the company)!! Once I get my information from the Press or see it on an official company release, then I will accept it as gospel.

The DOJ would never let UA purchase PHL routes as they all ready contol the international traffic out of IAD.

Too close.
