What is the plan, if we know, for resuming service to the European destinations that were dropped this summer due to the economy?
I bet CLT-MAN would do well.
Have any of you ever ridden in the back of a 757 for 7+ hours? There's a reason they call the 757 "the Atlantic RJ".
my predicitions on new 752 routes
clt-man (maybe)
other terms i believe clt-hnl returns one day on 332
clt-mad 762 starts soon
CLT-HNL - doubt it. That's a waste of a premium cabin that commands higher yields on business routes. To fly it CLT-HNL would also tie up two per day to make it a daily nonstop.
CLT-MAD - possibly if there are more Latin America routes from CLT to funnel connections in from MAD.
CLT-HNL can actually be flown with 1 a/c, so long as there is not a lengthy delay on either end. That being said, I absolutely agree with you and it's a moot point anyhow as CLT-HNL performed miserably with a B767 and won't be back anytime soon.
Would a A330 be able to fly PHL HNL? Does it have the range?
Does it really matter? Really don't see a market for PHL-HNL. Hawaii is a LEISURE MARKET and most people are not keen on the idea of 10-12 hour flights to lay on a beach when Florida and the Caribbean are much closer. And let's not forget the Cruise Industry, which also takes a big bite out of Beach destinatinations. Hawaii is better served from points WEST of the Mississippi. I have lived on BOTH sides of the country........Western states favour Hawaii and the Mexican resorts whereas the East Coast prefers Florida (yuck) and the Caribbean. CLT-HNL was a gamble at best and "IF" they say it wasn't profitable, more than likely it wasn't. Service out of PHX still exists and they could consider other western gateways as well..........they just can't be afraid of the competition.Would a A330 be able to fly PHL HNL? Quick Question:
True or False, there are no 757's currently in production by Boeing? If true then these would be off lease aircraft or from another airline correct?
But a route to HNL from the East Coast, has a better chance to succeed from PHL than CLT. People in the NE don't want to go down to CLT then to HNL, just as ATL. DL ATL is for the south and the population doesn't support 2 non-stops from the South. EWR has service, but for connecting, I believe PHL is better than EWR. PHL is delay prone, but EWR is twice as bad if not worst. I have a friend that flies out of EWR often, and he only does it cause its easier to get to than PHL driving. So he puts up withthe delays, just as long as he gets to his destinations, its all on company time anyway. But I would wait for the economy to pick up before attempting a PHL-HNL route. In all, all I am trying to state is, that PHL would be a better choice for that route, especially being leisure. Wait till people are spending money on non-essentials to attempt any move. Plus wouldn't it be better to put the 767's on the HNL route from PHX? Could HNL handle an A-330?Does it really matter? Really don't see a market for PHL-HNL.
