Six words(fairly near the top) says it all.

"These are POSSIBILITY's....Rather than PREDICTIONS" !!!

There are so many factors right now. Now that CO has linked with UAL, USAir probably moved up the list.

I read a very recent Forbes article that had an opinion of AMR(the article was about CO + UA)

It went on to say, that it was a possibility that AA could "go in" , in 12-18 months,.....BUT made it PERFECTLY CLEAR, that with AA sitting on a $5B "nest egg", that it was Highly Improbable, that they would.

I'll be the first to Admit, that if AA had 1/2 of the "dough", that they most likely could "go in"

As for LCC, I think your spot on...."tech"

Couldn't AA still file and use the $5B as exit financing? .... anyone?

I don't have much background info here, but it is possible for a "solvent" company to file BK and then use its existing cash collateral as DIP financing through the BK, and quite possibly in its exit.
