Dozens of CIA operatives on the ground during Benghazi attack

Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret.

CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy agency's Benghazi secrets from ever leaking out.

Since January, some CIA operatives involved in the agency's missions in Libya, have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency's workings.

The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress.

It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.

In exclusive communications obtained by CNN, one insider writes, "You don't jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize your family as well."

Another says, "You have no idea the amount of pressure being brought to bear on anyone with knowledge of this operation."

"Agency employees typically are polygraphed every three to four years. Never more than that," said former CIA operative and CNN analyst Robert Baer.

In other words, the rate of the kind of polygraphs alleged by sources is rare.

"If somebody is being polygraphed every month, or every two months it's called an issue polygraph, and that means that the polygraph division suspects something, or they're looking for something, or they're on a fishing expedition. But it's absolutely not routine at all to be polygraphed monthly, or bi-monthly," said Baer.

Masked from public view, two of the U.S. military’s elite special operations commandos have been awarded medals for bravery for a mission that further undercuts the Obama administration’s original story about the Benghazi tragedy.
 
For months, administration officials have claimed no special operations forces were dispatched from outside Libya to Benghazi during the Sept. 11, 2012, al Qaeda terrorist attacks on the U.S. diplomatic mission and CIA annex because none was within range.
 
The Pentagon, under intense public criticism for not coming to the aid of besieged Americans, published an official timeline in November that carefully danced around the issue.It said time and distance prevented any commandos outside Libya from reaching a CIA compound under attack. The timeline disclosed that a reinforcement flight 400 miles away in Tripoli contained two “DoD personnel” but did not describe who they were. Later, the official State Department report on Benghazi said they were “two U.S. military personnel” — but provided no other details. It made no mention of special operations forces.

Operators who were on the ground during the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack will testify the week of November 11 in a classified briefing before the House Intelligence Committee, Catherine Herridge reported Friday on Special Report.
The testimony should give investigators a valuable resource for investigators who are trying to ascertain what the U.S. intelligence community was doing there, according to Daily Beast writer Eli Lake.

CBS’s withdrawal of the story not only undermined its reporting, but that of Fox News, which apparently relied on Davies as a source for stories that have challenged the Obama administration’s account of events. Fox had cited the “60 Minutes” story repeatedly to validate its earlier reporting. “We stand by our reporting on Benghazi, and given what is still unknown, we anticipate further fact finding from those who know the truth about what took place on 9/11/12,” said Michael Clemente, executive vice president of news for Fox News.

’ Directly contradicts narrative in State Department review report -
 
Testimony by Benghazi witnesses and victims stating personnel inside the U.S. special mission were not armed directly contradicts the State Department report on the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, KleinOnline has learned.
 
Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga., chairman of the House Intelligence Subcommittee, told Fox News that State Department employees inside the mission “were not armed, not kitted up and there hadn’t been any shots fired from our side as far as the testimony reveals.”
Westmoreland was commenting on closed-door testimony given to his intelligence committee.
 
In contrast, the extensive report released by the State Department-sponsored Accountability Review Board, or ARB, specifically states personnel inside the mission protecting the compound and Ambassador Chris Stevens were armed and had their security kits.
The ARB states all assistant regional security officers, or ARSOs, were armed during the attack.

CBS Lara Logan “leave of absence” is just like tea-party-punishing IRS agents or gunrunning Justice Dept agents getting “punished” by paid vacation plus job transfer.
Media is just like government. It PRETENDS to live by normal moral rules, so that the public will not totally lose trust. But it’s a game.
Logan loses NOTHING. The network wants her and doesn’t care if “she” got the story wrong. THEY got it wrong! If it even WAS wrong.
She will be back soon to beguile viewers with her sweet smoky half Irish accent, her blue eyes and her cleavage, and no feminists will complain that she got where she is on glamour. It’s because she is reliably Leftist.
Half the media is married to half the government anyway, and when government people step down, they take media jobs.
It’s a dysfunctional family, media and government. You can tell by the similarities in how they handle image problems. Fake punishment, but still coddling their favorites and the true believers, and making sure that if anyone has to take any public hits, there’s a payoff in it for them.
This phony punishment of Logan is just another head-fake by institutions that make pretenses for the sake of fooling honest and decent people. Those institutions are media and government– but I repeat myself.
