On a more serious note.  Did you ever read about lunar ranging?  Two or three of the fake Apollo missions place a series of reflectors on the surface of the moon (Hollywood) and scientists here on earth can bounce a laser off the reflectors and get a measurement with in a few inches.  The Russians said they put some up there as well but if we never went we know they never made it.
