Bloomberg leave the GOP

I don't think Bloomberg has what it takes. The fact that he has switched allegiances so often I feel is already a draw back.

Had McCain in his pre-waffle suck up the right wing nut jobs, everything is hunky dorry in Iraq with a battalion guarding him days gone independent and stuck to his guns, I think he might have been able to pull it off. At the very least he would have really shaken up the landscape.

The only way an independent party will have a chance is to shake the Ralph Nader image. Get someone like McCain who has serious appeal and clout and who is taken seriously. Short of that, it's a thrown away vote.

McCain's a boob.....another Arlen Spectre.
He screwed up campain financing to the incumbents favor and hes for muzzling talk radio.....so much for freedom of speech....bet thats ok with you though.

Yeah. Agree with you. But the fact that he switched allegiances so often could be helpful with the right amount of "spin." Of course, such "spin" would cost alot, which Bloomberg shouldn't have a problem with.

Picture this advertisement: "Bloomberg cares for the American People; so much so that he does not let political affiliations get in the way of doing what is right by the American People."

It's a load of crap... but I can definitely see that coming to a picture tube near you.

Freedom of speech is OK with me..."DUDE", thats why I'll see Michael Moore's newest Docu. , about the wonderful condition of the health care system(NOT), here in the good ol' usa.

It seems that the "system" started to really go downhill after 1/20/2001.

Oh, and maybe you might have noticed..DUDE..that the Canadian system, that we "USED" to poke fun at a few years back......WELL I ain't heard that "zing" about them, these last 5-6 years.

I wonder why that is.

If you will notice I said that he would have been good prior to his flip flopping around and pandering to who ever could get him in the White House. When have I ever advocated the limitation of free speech?

If you will read my posts, I am pretty sure I am the one advocating that anyone should be allowed to say pretty much anything as long as it does not incite riots, or inflict physical harm on another. Yes I imagine there are circumstances that could be an exception but that is the case for pretty much any rule.

If the KKK wants to sponsor a road clean up, so be it. If the Neo Nazis want to hold a rally, go for it. If NAMBLA wants to have a picnic, start up the BBQ's. If they stick a toe across the legal limit, throw their sorry a$$es in jail. As I have stated several times before, freedom applies to everyone, including those who we despise. It is called freedom and it comes at a price.

You have a futre in advertising. Just hold your nose and you'll be just fine. Just reading the above quote makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Pardon me ... I think I need to hurl. lol

Actually, my neighbor, who is a neuroscientist and attended an international conference in Havana was rather impressed with the Cuban medical knowledge.

Really... Is that why Canadians are rushing down to Cuba for their impressive medical knowledge and care?

A July 2004 study by the Vancouver-based Fraser Institute, Paying, More, Getting Less, concluded that after years of government control, the Canadian medical system is badly injured and bleeding citizens' hard-earned tax dollars. The institute compared health care systems in the industrialized countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and found Canada currently spends the most, yet ranks among the lowest on such indicators as access to physicians, quality of medical equipment, and key health outcomes.

One of the major reasons for this discrepancy is that, unlike the countries in the study that outperformed Canada--Sweden, Japan, Australia, and France, for example--Canada outlaws most private health care.

If the Canadian government says it provides a particular medical service, it is illegal for a Canadian citizen to pay for and obtain that service privately. At the same time, the Canadian government bureaucracy rations medical services. According to another Fraser Institute survey, Waiting Your Turn: Hospital Waiting Lists in Canada (13th edition, October 2003), a Canadian health care patient, on average, must wait 17.7 weeks for hospital treatment. Those who live in Saskatchewan waited an average of 30 weeks, those in Ontario a relatively expeditious 14 weeks.

No...Canadians are flocking down there because Cuba is actually a pretty decent vacation destination.

Do you have any knowledge of Cuban medicine? I lived across the street from a doctor who fled Cuba and came to the US. Because of his "inferior" medical training, he had to go thru it all again here. As it turned out, HE ended up teaching his professors some things. And... as I mentioned, my neighbor who is a neuroscienist (Phd...but what's a degree...not nearly as impressive as a youtube video)was rather impressed with their knowledge. That's my first hand knowledge of the subject, limited though it may be...what's your first hand knowledge again??

And i'm sure he saw only the nicest, cleanest facilities...you know, nothing like Walter Reed....

No, he didn't actually have to see facilities to form an opinion on KNOWLEDGE...you know...what they know versus whether or not they have new "hospital green" paint or flaking hospital green paint. Again...what's YOUR firsthand knowledge of Cuban medicine?? I admit that mine is quite limited, but I think it's 200% more than yours.
