Could someone post a link to verify that this subject is even being considered by TSA?

There is none - the TSA isn't considering allowing knives or box cutters.

The OP is crying "Wolf!"

The changes include allowing small pointed scissors and various tools, like screwdrivers, pliers, etc.

Anyone really afraid of scissors? Or screwdrivers? Or pliers? If so, I'd suggest counseling or a career change.
