That environment can be achieved without the help of a union. If management is that screwed up all people have to do is quit. When the company begins to suffer the loss of its employees they will reorganize its management.
Why should people have to quit a job they enjoy doing just because the management sucks. If management is that screwed up maybe they should just quit. But they won't because they're to busy collecting performance bonuses off of the backs of the employees.PlayTheOdds said:That environment can be achieved without the help of a union. You obviously haven't worked under"airline management" much in the past. Have you?PlayTheOdds said:If everyone continues to quit the company will investigate as to why and restructure its management. I agree it is a pain leaving a job you enjoy but how much are you enjoying it if you are so miserable with management. I just don't think unions are the answer. They have the potential to be but they tend to be more corrupt than the companies themselves.

So considering what you know about the company. Do you think the employees are better off with or without the unions? Simple answer please. Better off with or without.PlayTheOdds said:No not under airline management my experience is strictly military and MRO's. This is the first bout with an airline. I have not been impressed with what I have seen. If the condition of the LMO's are any indication of how this place is run it must be really miserable. I probably wouldn't last a month here as a direct. Being a contractor though does give ma an advantage. I just tell myself that it is temporary and deal with it. The company has done nothing for its people nor has the union. You people lose on both ends.

They've not only taken advantage of their positions, they've also taken advantage of the employees. They are equally responsible for the position the company is in if not more. Senior management has continually taken/given themselves performance bonuses even though the company continued to lose money, while at the same time hiking up health care costs and severely underfunding employeee pension funds. They make costly decisions which the employees have no say in (fuel hedging contracts, fare increases/prices) yet they continue to blame labor costs as the main problem. These same employees have already given concessions (in exchange for stock which they were screwed out of by, guess who?) to help the company and now they're asking employees to take concessions again. There's a common problem here and it's not the employees. At least in BK senior management will lose some of their control over financial matters. But ultimately it will be the employees who pay for the mess that management has made of this company. The same company that these employees have kept afloat all these years. Good luck to all at NWA.PlayTheOdds said:Saturday all I can say is if you don't like it either get out or change it. You have done neither. Therefore I have no pity on your current situation. AMFA members have skated by way to long here for me to really care. You were apparently here way to long before me. Are you really upset with management because they took advantage of their positions or are you jealous of them because you are not in the same position? I think you are unhappy with your life and you must blame someone else other than yourself.
