Harry How can they just extend the P/T shifts without going thru the o.t. list? Also is it possible that whoever does the ot sheet in the office at your station can be selecting P/T instead of going thru the OT sheet? It sounds like a violation to me but correct me if Im wrong

Robbed, this may be suited for one of the folks who knows far more than I do, but I think they sign up on the "shift extension" sheets & are called off of those.

I guess it's because the shifts are only for x amount of hours & that's for one of the folks who understand better than I do.

There is a shift extension sheet that they call off of for OT shift extensions. Article 6 paragraph D Page 23, will tell you that it is OT that is anticipated to be 4 hours or less. Anything over 4 hrs is not considered a shift extension, and must be given out as a shift for regular OT. Which means anything 5hrs or less, goes to PT agents, anything over 5 hrs goes to FT agents.

This may be just a Rumor & not worth much, but it's going around that there is going to be a new bid to be eff. in April since this thing is not working. I was told this morning that the part timers are now pretty much full time as they get all the shift extensions they desire.

I am a part timer, I have been since I joined the airline in Jul 07....I was able to give away most of my 26 days that were alotted...and was keeping an under 20 hour schedule for the week....This worked great for me until this bid started.....I have a difficult time giving my days away now...as there is a gap the full timers dont like....also talking to one of the guys in my work unit was telling me that there is plenty of overtime for them and they dont need my part time shift....I do hope it gets better...and I will appreciate when this is fixed....
