I was in Charlotte Tuesday and did not see anywhere to smoke there, is there a bar where you can smoke anymore??

Thanks,
Dave

If passenger, from the CLT website:

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is now a smoke-free facility. Passengers and visitors to the airport are no longer allowed to smoke in spaces that are open to the public, which includes all restaurants and bars.

This smoke-free policy does not impact airline clubs, which are considered non-public areas.

Smokers on the front curb of the terminal are encouraged to use courtesy areas on each end of the Baggage Claim and Ticketing levels.

That Sux! but Thanks for the Info Jim, having to go outside and then go thru security again is a terrible inconvenince!!

As someone with the "evil habit", I agree it sux. But it's happening almost everywhere and this is a pretty recent change @ CLT.

Jim, it's too bad they can't do something like those smoking "cages" near the gates like they have in Tampa, those things are a life saver!! or at least a room like they have in Atlanta.
I may have to Join the Club just to get a smoke!!

I wish they hadn't changed it either, because I can finally go to Tequilleria and those darn $15 margueritas are delicious and potent.

sky high states: I hear they have a new procedure out with lasers that makes you quit. Very high success rate. Spoke with some passengers that were so impressed by it, they both quit, that they went down south, to purchase the laser, get qualified with it, and open a business.

Quit, trust me, it'll be the best decision of your life.

only stating opinions

It's because of all of the Yankees invading NC. LOL. To think that CLT airport would be non-smoking is just simply criminal. I smoke NC's biggest cash crop and HATE the new rule. I'm out with the rest of the lepers on the curb, sweating to get back through security in time for my flight from the absolute end of B - Con. Of course, perhaps I wouldn't be sweating if I were able to run from Jamba Juice to B-13 without needing an oxygen concentrator, but there it is.....

I wish they would put in inclosed, properly venilated smoking rooms in all airports. It's just my opinion but I think we would have a lot less stress on the aircraft if people had somewhere to have a smoke. Especially in the International terminals where folks are getting ready for a very long flight. Oh, and don't get me wrong. Smokers are not a problem on the a/c. That award goes to the drinkers.
But if you are allowed to drink in an airport...you should be allowed to smoke. They don't make the drinkers go outside.
😉

With the hotels going smoke free, PIT going Jan 1, as well as Allegheny County's (now defunct) smoking ban, I quit in December. The county ban was repealed and I swore if the airport started allowing it again, I was going to start back (it didn't). Oh well, 6 mos. smoke free now and it is less stressful in the airports, and especially on layovers at places like ORD.

Someone had mentioned the clubs in CLT, I thought the US Clubs all went smoke free years ago. Didn't CLT too?

Well, you drinking does not affect the person next to you- smoking does...and if your drinking is affecting the person next to you, you probably will be headed out. Just my thoughts. 😀

Plus, TSA doesn't allow lighters past security so doesn't that just make it a pain anyways?

Well sweetie, that drinker might be either a problem on the road or a problem on the aircraft. And that's a far more immediate issue than second hand smoke.
And far more dangerous.

People don't get high smoking cigs. Drinkers do. Smokers don't get aggressive, drinkers do.

Let me give you a heads up Mr. Future UScapt...alcohol is seducutive and it's the Devil's hand maiden.( I know I sound medival ) Don't ever say that drinking doesn't affect the person next to you. Check out an Al-Anon meeting. It will make you cry. 🙁
