And you obviously didn’t understand the point delldude was trying to make.

The difference is that Bush didn’t go “kick out of his ranch†while a request for troop reinforcements sat on his desk.

The answer to delldude’s question is 38. 38, the number of front deployed US Servicemen killed since a request from Obama’s hand picked General in Afghanistan to send 40K more troops . . . quick.

“Present†personified!

I understood quite well, both you and dell have a double standard.

Why don't you do this. Look up how long it took GWB to figure out that his policy in Iraq was not working, to stop listening to Rumsfeld and listening more to his generals, to go over the Iraq Study Group report and then send more troops to Iraq. Once you finished doing that tell me how many US servicemen were killed in that period of time. Then tell me the difference between him and Obama regarding the deployment of troops.

Let’s not forget the reason why reinforcements are needed in Afghanistan. It should be rather easy to figure out. Wonder if it has something to do with resources being drained from that theater of operations into another?

if there are troops deployed abroad..

that is the country's top priority over anything else.

they need to address that entire situation first..

and then can figure out Health care, Olympics games ext.

if they are asking for help, send it.

if they dont plan on sending help, then bring them all home.

GWB was in contact with his front line................a little more than once in seventy days.....

And the issue is troops dying in Afghanistan while Obama tries to placate the wonks in his party who threaten to not support his healthcare agenda vote....unless he doesn't increase troops........notice he is trying to put the troop decision off for several weeks? Now there is a friggin rush for a vote on HC.....

777 your support for a marxist anti military clown makes me question your service to the Constitution............

Thank you Tug McGroin for your support.....

See post #32 dell.

Dell you really need to stop reading sites like WND and the sort. It's starting to twist you mind. And how the hell do you know that he's a "marxist anti military clown" . Did WND tell you this?

You questioning my service really does not bother me. That's because you never served, therefore I could care less what your opinion is on that subject.

Exactly why do you think I support the president? Is it because I don't buy into unsubstantiated conspiracy theories regarding his place of birth? Or is it because I don't try and turn every thread in The Water Cooler into some sort of anti-Obam tirade?

Again, when the Liberal Demorats policies start to waver, resort to plan B.......................blame Bush or at least mention his name !

Time for Nobama to start taking responsibility for his own gaffs.....................along with Reid, Pelosi, Franks and the rest of the village idiots !

777 give me a hit of that stuff...................

I figure a guy who surrounds himself with self proclaimed communists and devout marxists does it for a reason.....Grandma always said 'you are judged by the company you keep'.

Bother to look at his czars and cabinet...................... 😱

I'm not questioning your military service just your devotion to a President who does nothing better than to constantly slander our great country and apologize for its actions..

Whats that oath say....enemies foreign and domestic......

Remember what Grandma said.........................

troops deployed overseas are no longer the overiding national security conern of the united states . Interal stablity is now issue number one and that goes stright to the economy . with unemployment close to reaching ten percent things are going to get ugly ,as our economy deteorites we may even be forced to abandon afganstan due to econmic reasons (such as not being able to afford to stay there )

Why don’t you do this, show me one instance where, during the Bush Administration, troop level recommendations were deferred while policy change recommendations were explored. How does a competent CIC ever justify leaving our troops in a losing situation regardless of policy or lack thereof? As a serviceman, how can you possibly justify Obama's actions?

You can’t rewrite history to support your accusation that it was Bush who deferred troop level recommendations. The ISG report strongly urged a large pull back of American troops from Iraq as a means to ease tension between rival factions and stabilize a fledging Iraqi government.

As the Democrats were absolutely convinced that the Iraqi war had already been lost, they became incensed when Bush didn’t adopt the ISG recommendation to cut and run. It was at the time that the newly elected Democrat Congress willingly engaged in partian politics and threatened to withhold funding for “surge†troop deployment. As a side bar, isn't it ironic the problems America continues to experience since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006.

Who holds a double standard?

“Look up how long it took GWB to figure out that his policy in Iraq was not working, to stop listening to Rumsfeld and listening more to his generals. . .â€

Obama has had ONE face to face meeting with General McCrystal since the grand announcement of a “comprehensive new strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistanâ€! Since that time Obama has played golf 10 times and met with the SEIU union leaders every month!

Obama sought cover in anti-war protest over Iraq by praising Afghanistan as the good war. Obama never realized that they would own Afghanistan and his own bellicose rhetoric would come back to haunt him.

Who holds a double standard?

Have there been any New York Times articles to exposes Obama authorized Predator assassinations in Pakistan, in which we obliterate houses and innocent civilians without Miranda rights or habeas corpus (Obama himself once deplored)?

Who holds a double standard?

If the State Department was supposed to oversee private guards responsible for embassy security in Kabul, and the State Department in turn was responsible to the White House, does the administration have culpability in the fashion that the rogue sex-perverts guards at Abu Ghraib supposedly reflected the Bush-era military?

Who holds a double standards?

If we blow up 90 in Afghanistan is it a war crime, or an honest mistake?

When you turn the media into Pravda it becomes impossible to keep the party line straight sometimes doesn’t it 777?

To argue that any president actually goes on VC is some what foolish. The WH travels with the POTUS at all times. His staff is with or near him. He always has access to direct communication with anyone he needs to speak with. The 7 min with Bush 44 to me was foolish. Not like anything could have been done in the 7 min it took him to get moving. My only question was why the SS let him sit there and continue. I would have thought given the imminent threat and unknowns at the time, they would have yanked his ass up by his hair and dragged him on to a plane.

When Bush was at his ranch, he was at the second WH, not like he was out in the Sahara with no communication. Same with Obama, just because he was abroad arguing for the Olympics does not mean other work was not being done.

As for listening to ones Generals, IIRC, the generals were 9 kinds of pissed off when Rumsfeld gutted the military to fit his idea of a fighting force. When we went into Iraq, I am pretty sure they wanted far more than what was sent but Rumsfeld was certain we could do with less. "You fight with the military you have, not the one you want". Sound familiar?

POTUSs have to please two masters, the people who vote them in, and the people who vote them in. The military always get screwed by both sides.

if only ACORN had been there to steal votes, things may have been different 🙄
