At a House Budget Committee hearing on Jan 26th, Medicare's Chief Actuary Rick Foster provided a concise, damaging verdict on two key promises of the health care law's proponents.

McCLINTOCK: "True or false: The two principle promises that were made in support of Obamacare were one, that it would hold costs down. True or false?"

FOSTER: "I would say false, more so than true."

McCLINTOCK: "The other promise... was the promise that if you like your plan, you can keep it. True or false?"

FOSTER: "Not true in all cases."

And speaking of jokes...new TIME magazine cover.

Anyone who knows anything about Ronald Reagan knows that he would not only disapprove of everything Obama stands for, he would be the first one to call out Obama as the leftist, liberal, big government Democrat he is. Ronald Reagan warned America about ObamaCare 50 years ago. Do you think he would want to be photoshopped onto a magazine cover yukking it up with his political nemesis? It’s no secret that since the November 2010 “shellacking” the Obama loving media has been desperately trying to re-brand Captain Priorities as a practical centrist but this is ridiculous. Consider two key coincidences…

1. Reagan’s 100th birthday celebration is happening in… February 2011.

2. Obama’s new press secretary used to work for…. TIME Magazine.

Gotta love the pro-Obamacare NYT in all it hypocrisy. Constantly beating the drum and carrying the water for the messiah and his liberal leftist minions, no such thing as "Death Panals" rah rah.

Then this little beauty in a recent NYT regarding medicare cuts:

The best place to look for savings is in programs for the elderly and the disabled; as a quarter of the enrollees, they receive almost three-quarters of total Medicaid spending. Some is acute care in hospitals, but a lot is long-term care in nursing homes, clinics and at home, where spending is rising rapidly.
