Can you provide the serial numbers?
It doesn't really matter who assembles the Airplane. What matters is the standards used and the training and skills of the assemblers. The oversight is not there most places in the US ,much less china...
If the skill is there for the assemblers, then why question the maintainers?...

The problem is they are robots they do exactly as there told.....Right or wrong!!!! The industry (airlines) Preach 100% compliance now after getting their pee pee spanked. Yet in reality send work overseas to circumvent it. They know chances are
no one will inspect the faciities for years...I was just reading inspections were done by phone. Tell me how that works?
Rubber stamped for sure...Back to the question. There is no way their workers can know all the paperwork for every Airline,it takes
5 years min to really understand just how AA's procedures work...If the paperworks not right the airplanes not airworthy... That alone is a safety issue.I have seen some of the hack jobs from several MRO's its down right scary...Also an engine at AA with no RII...Changed by Boeing contractor....Had to be lowered and reinspected, you think that would happen in china, doubtful just would have been signed off....bye-bye off to America. As a mechanic we see alot of degrading of practices going on today...
Sad but reality,it's all about the buck....
the chinese are building automobiles for Ford and GM, and how many of those are on U.S roads?? free-trade agreements with emerging markets have screwed the american worker. It all comes down to the holy dollar.....and WE just cannot compete with people willing to work for less in other parts of the world. Blame the politicians! The problem is they are robots they do exactly as there told.....Right or wrong!!!! The industry (airlines) Preach 100% compliance now after getting their pee pee spanked. the contractor will do whatever the airline wants them to do. AA's procedures are for employees to follow....do you think TIMCO will be required to follow the GPM with the 757. I doubt it. I'm going to guess that more than just one supervisor from heavy C will be on hand to help TIMCO.The problem is they are robots they do exactly as there told.....Right or wrong!!!! I guess u haven't seen the list of major US corporations that don't pay any income taxes !!!The free trade agreements seem to be a given in todays global economy. As you noted, Ford and GM are building cars in China.
I believe that the answer lies in the traditional tax system we live under today. It taxes the manufacter to death. In many cases that tax is past on to the consumer. I am a big fan of the Fair Tax system of taxation. Lets bring those manufacturing facillaties home by making it cheaper to manufacter without a big blow to labor. Change the tax system and we can compete.
