I will never forget when I heard my doorbell ring and then a huge THUMP outside my front door.. . only to open it and there it was; the cheese heard round the world.

And I must admit I devoured every piece of that cheese. . I took it to several parties and always ended up taking it home with me. . it was never ending!

This time of year brings out the best of people and the worst. The world is such a great big place and such a small world. I would hope that we could all get along.

When I first opened it I thought it was a 3 wick candle but they had gotten a good deal on candles w/ no wicks.....silly me.

That was the world's biggest frickin' wheel of cheese, but it was damn good.

I'm no longer employed with US. I'm getting the best Christmas bonus a fella could hope for: Spending every single day being nothing else in life but a full-time daddy to my 8 year old son...picking him up from school, playing football, doing homework, reading bedtime stories, going fishing, riding our bikes to the park, going to lacrosse games, etc. Not many 42 year old men have that chance, and I'm grateful for it every day.

I wouldn't go back to the way things were - personally or professionally - for all the tea in China.

I wish everyone -- including the folks in Tempe and the few on this board whose opinions rub me the wrong way -- a Merry Christmas. It doesn't mean I have to agree with them or like what they are doing, but I can wish them peace, happiness and serenity.

You forgot to put the cookies in the poll. I still have mine. I refused to open the box they came in.

I'm not (or never was) an employee, but......that cheese is sounding mighty good! I presume that it was a gift from your employer?? My employer gave us portable travel speakers this year. (We get regular bonuses in May - sure to be cut this year. ) I'd rather have a hunk of cheese!!!

It was, with a little note inside from Wolf and Gangwal.
Despite the presence of the note, the cheese (sharp cheddar) was still quite tasty.

The wheel was about 6" across and about 5" thick. It could have easily doubled as a cannonball.
Or a wheel on Fred Flintstone's car.

I'd take Tickets to Pam Ann and a $100 Piedmont Pacemaker card 😉

but I'd do anything to throw shoes at DP 🙂

Yum!!!

That fresh new $100 bill that Piedmont handed out was a very nice gesture at the time. After the merger, US gave it a shot for 1 or 2 years, until they started bleeding cash like mad. It's been all downhill ever since, with the exception of a few profitalbe years since 1989.

Actually USair never gave out $100 bills, they presented a check for one hundred and then taxed it! Piedmont was much classier.
