Clinton booed in Iowa

She was booed, alright, but not for the reasons that you would have us believe.

Clinton was booed by some in the left-leaning audience -- the only candidate to get such a reception -- when she declined to pledge to push for immigration reform during her first 100 days in office, saying only that she would make it a "high priority."

That wasn't good enough for Catherine Salgado of Chicago, a member of the Illinois Coalition for Immigration and Refugee Rights.

"We need a commitment," Salgado said.

Jacqueline Herrera of Chicago, an immigration lawyer in the same group, said she believed Clinton had become less vocal about legalizing undocumented immigrants after the recent controversy over whether she supported granting illegal immigrants driver's licenses, a proposal she eventually came to oppose.

At the Heartland Presidential Candidates Forum in Des Moines, community activists lustily booed the Democratic frontrunner after she declined to commit to passing comprehensive immigration reform in her first 100 days in office.

Hillary Clinton, who had rushed to New Hampshire amid Friday's hostage standoff at a campaign office there, drew sustained boos at the end of her turn fielding questions from the Heartland Presidential Forum, held in Des Moines by a coalition of liberal activist groups to launch a national "Campaign for Community Values." The subject was immigration. Scores of pro-immigrant activists, mostly Hispanics but Irish and Asian Americans as well, were already primed to give Ms. Clinton a hard time, given their resentment that she came out against drivers licenses for illegal immigrants in a recent Democratic debate...

Fortunately for Ms. Clinton's Iowa hopes, the hecklers were from Chicago. The questioner, an Irish-American, specifically asked her to condemn remarks attributed to Chicago Rep. Rahm Emanuel, who was quoted in the past as urging fellow House Democrats to steer clear of the hot-button illegal immigration issue. Ms. Clinton, in her answer, dodged any mention of Mr. Emanuel, formerly a top aide in Bill Clinton's White House, and instead reaffirmed her support for a comprehensive immigration-law overhaul...

Several Chicagoans said afterward it was her ignoring of the part of the question about Mr. Emanuel, along with their vexation about her drivers license position, that sparked the booing. Before that, Ms. Clinton had gotten applause for her pitch for universal health care.

Looks like she is being booed for lack of a willingness to take a stance.BTW,what exactly does she take a stance on?She won't let reporters around for questions and if she does theres a specific limitation as to what she will discuss.

I think the reason she was booed is clearly stated in the links I provided, had you read them you would know that. care to point out where my post is misleading?

Interesting...I can't seem to locate any information of her campaign stances and discussing

them with reporters at these staged Hillary promo's.

I did see her stance on allowing illegals getting driver licenses in NY....what was it

...hmmm...seems she was for it and against it at the same time...or was it just me?

She does that a lot I see.

All depends on the crowd she is addressing! 😉
