CLT Employee Incident

At the risk of risking the moderator's ire, can someone explain to me how Doug gets a pass driving what's probably a company leased car but employees don't?

I think that's a legitimate point for discussion.
you said it!

I too think his history and position are relevant in this picture!!!!! Especially given the thread's title..close or change it if it's inappropriate.

Whats inappropriate is the way certain leads in CLT get away with everything because they are untouchable. These guys had their own personal keys to the managers van. They drive off the property with the managers to restaurants and lord knows where else. The sad thing about these guys is that they have so much dirt on the managers that the situation will be swept under the carpet as quick as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if corporate security isn't dismissed with a wink and a nod.
Funny thing though, these guys both get off at ABR searching online to see if anyone they work with has been arrested.

I wonder if the wife of one of them knows they were out drinking with a female 😉 co-worker. I wonder if corporate will find out that a manager clocked them out. CYA. Maybe some justice will come of this. Who knows at this job? It seems the worse you are the further you go!

It's funny how fate plays out.....................the driver at one point in time, was anti union as they come, southern good ole boy.
Didn't need representation, co. will take care of me? I heard from a good source the express girl was canned yesterday.
The biggest problem I have with this is the safety factor, would you want to work on the ramp with these guy's while impaired?
The ramp is dangerous enough. The manager that signed them out should be held responsible too.
CLT has long been deemed the good ole boy station, I guess this is proof of that.

I agree and I have changed the topic and header for this thread.

History and position are indeed relevent to this discussion, but from a business and leadership trust perspective-NOT in the making of disparaging comments and wisecracks.

Therefore, the discussion of double standards, and trust in leadership based on such history are in fact appropriate, but statements which mock or otherwise ridicule will not be tolerated.

I would say that's fair...no?

my understanding is all were fired, a union guy expressed hope he could get the one their job back(not the driver he is done no saving him) both are well over twenty year guys. the express employee is not under union and is of course done
So the "Union Guy" is going to try and save a guys job who was intoxicated while one duty...Great. Maybe that Union Guy can put his efforts into something more usefull such as a decent T/A!! Don't get me wrong here, as I have personally known a few fellow employess who had drinking problems. The company did put them thru a rehab program, but none were caught drinking on the job, or involved in an accident with a company vehicle. All that I knew of had attendance issues, and admitted that they had a problem BEFORE anything like this happened. I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy for something such as this.

wings I really don,t disagree with you just stating what I was told.
in my view it was incredibility poor judgement on their part. I do hate to see anyone lose their job but if you can get it back after that you can get away with almost anything.

On the CEO's issue to me because of his position he is always representing the company and therefore should be held accountable for his actions

Well, it was definitely a bad judgement call. I feel really bad for the agent, no matter how dumb the judgement call was, because we can all point and laugh and call him stupid, but he just lost his entire career- - This person won't be able to pass a background check and work for another airline ever again.

Sure, they had an impulsive not-so-smart moment.....I just think the whole thing is sad.

Don't think TSA can get involved,it happened outside secured areas.
Well, your not going to believe this one....A US employee tailgated a TSA employee this morning thru a security door in CLT. Airport Ops were called to give the employee a citation. He could not produce a sida badge and was extremely intoxicated. They ran locals on him and found out his licsence(sp) was revoked in 02, they said he was so drunk he could not sign the citation.

Also, I am sorry for the original title to this posting, it was completely inappropriate. When I originally wrote it I was thinking more of whats good for the goose and that was'nt right, this was a serious incident that did'nt deserve the posting titled like that.
