If you ask me, all these surveys are intended to do is to take a tally of all the (company- loyal push-overs) so they know what they have to work with when the Unions come calling. They could care less about the employees!! Anyone that has some time in this business should already know this. You would be amazed to know just how many sheep you are working with :down:
 
Doug and Dick are concerned about the "culture" in the workplace. I remember when nwa had the employee surveys. Nothing ever came out of the suggesstions made in that excercise as far as the rank and file were concerned. I guess it makes good copy for the press.

Since when do either of these two dopes give a rip about the "culture?!"

As for suggestions for improvements, we already have EIT teams. We were told that they were the panacea that would cure all our ills. "New Day at NWA" and all that... Guess those aren't working out too well???

The problem with these surveys as I see it, is that A) They only serve to divide and conquer, and B ) The questions are always worded so as to exclude the voice(s) of dissent. They are but a piece in a much larger puzzle trying to form a new way of group think. E-Trons is dead on with his sheep comment....

And before someone pipes up here trying to deny that, surf on over to newglobalairline.com, and check out the quotes from people in the Q & A's. Or check out some of the quotes on RADAR. According to the employees cited, everything is coming up roses. Hooray! Never even so much as cautious optimism, let alone worry, anger, frustration, sadness at the Red Tail going away, etc.

The spin machine is running at full tilt. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Joseph Goebbels would be proud.

They should go over to Arpey at AA. He could teach them a thing or two about how to have great employee relations. :shock:

Here was my experience with a representative of NWA friendly management.
First this person comes on board stating that they were doing a checkride. Ok everyone carps in the pants. I already see that something is up with this. I told the newhire that was with me to relax. The old days check rides means someone grumpy or inexperienced sit in the back of the plane writing down every little thing you do. Then tell you what you did WRONG.

Not today.

As I was doing my service, I swear I saw this person was working on their resume (WTF)
Towards the end of the leg this person was just wanting feedback and be a punching bag for all the nasty things that we have to deal with on our trip. I don't know what this person really had to offer because I didn't stop everything and chatted with the "Doug Steenland Rep". I was busy working. It was too short to sit on an ice bucket and be chummy.

is it just me or these websites don't really emphasize on how gas prices went down. They only put emphasis on how much it went up.

Sounds like a Delta ckeckride to me.

Do not know what that person was working on. What I was refering to was the content of the checkride. Different approach to the checkride. At Delta the idea and the culture is that you do your job as trained. Very little supervision over here .Checkrides are mostly square fillers . What they seem to be is more a way to get info and suggestions and sometimes complaints. Hope that clears things

FA's at NW already have that tool at their disposal... It's what the Fast Form is for.

Kev... Just my advice for what it is worth. As a former Western I can tell you that programs that are in place at NWA will not transfer in place to the NEW airline. The NEW management will have to use THEIR methods to get THEIR info. It may take the form of a NWA program but will have a new name. As we would say after our merger it was not OLD WESTERN but NEW DELTA.
Some of these programs will meld well and some will fail. I look at it like a marriage. MY old wife that I loved died. I have a new wife so do I doom this marriage by constantly comparing her to the old wife or see if I can be happy with the way the new wife runs the house. Fight for what you think is right but don't resist change just to resits change. I have been able to effect change in my department because of the culture over here. You may think that you understand how it is over here but it will take a while after you are in the system to see how it really is. It took me years to say US and not THEM . Just my 2 cents.
