That interview with Trippler makes a very compelling case for mandatory drug testing.

Only sane reason for WN to take on the US Airways millstone would be to eliminate a major rival in PHX, LAS, PHL, etc... and we're doing a great job of that all by ourselves; no need to buy us just wait a while...

Interesting theory. Let's see -- since WN's arrival into PHL, I have seen US increase the flights and continue to establish an international presence. Exactly how much is "a while" to wait for you to eliminate US?

HP did a great job for years of competing with WN in LAS and PHX. I wonder when this total domination will take place?

While I can agree that the cultures at each airline are different, I don't see this being a problem. If you take all of the US employees and treat them well, and with an ounce of respect it will make a world of difference. Remember that all of the US workforce has been getting screwed for so long, that any improvment would be welcome. SWA pays better, and they still recognize the fact that a happy employee equals a productive employee. I would have welcomed a SWA takeover years ago myself. They don't outsource stations and Fleet Svc. jobs like US does, and they don't operate ANY Express A/C either. Bring it on!!!
 
If HP does such a great job competing with WN in LAS, why are ASMs there down 27% year-over-year?

'Cause a terminal case of US Airways flu has caused west unit costs to rise 60% since the merger. WN's costs are up around 15% over the same period.
 
article isn't worth the read, same old rumor crap that we all know about already. US has officially been linked with every airline in the U.S.
