Correction...longer lines and bigger delays. (it's more, that's got to be a 'good thing'.)

Does anyone know whether stations will receive "Pardon Our Dust While We Cutover To Our New SHARES/QIK Reservations Computer System" signs????

I remember we had signs/notices posted in the ATOs during the SABRE cutover.

Say it isn't so? Someone on this board that actually has a POSITIVE attitude! Wow! 😀

When hired years ago by US Airways, we attended a two week SABRE introduction class followed by a one week specialty ticketing class. At the end of each week of class everyone was required to take a test. If you did not pass the test given at the end of each week, you were dismissed or "let go". We were prepared professionals who were ready to go to work. Thats the difference.

Even if the "cut-over" were to happend seemlessly, all of the agents are not properly prepared for this event. We never saw a QIK assist agent from the "west" in our department and the training classes were more like a brief survey class of whats going to happen with most of the responses being "we don't know yet".

There is one thing I am possitive about...This is not the way to handle a change of this magnitude. CLT alone checks-in up to 10,500 originating passengers at the airport. No one out west can imagine whats that like because they don't have numbers like this. On top of all of this, the east kiosks can not be used with SHARES. There is already a huge agent shortage in CLT and now, unless the "west" kiosks are installed this week, there will be a MASSIVE MELT DOWN IN CLT. Deny it if you like but this company(and its largest hub) will suffer a self inflicted black-eye on March 4th. Of that, I'm positive.

The training for SLO / Shares was inadequate, the TIPS program is not in place. Why the rush to this backwards system?

With Sabre you can go from here to there...

With SLO you go from here to there then over to there to get to nowhere. and god forbid if you need to start over...

Time to have a brewski..er Dougski...

I've got three days of training on Quik/shares, as opposed to what we went thru for sabre training. And I must say, sabre training, at the AA training center, was epic (professional), in contrast to what I've just experienced.
Good luck to us all.

I have been involved in the Qik/Sabre project for quite
a few months. Almost all stations have had Qik/Sabre
in place for at least a month of usage. Alot of stations
had it before the end of the year. Problem was stations did not use it after the assit team left. Some stations made their agents use it so they would know path come cutover day. That was the way it was intended to be used. For the stations and the agents that used Qik/Sabre the cutover to Qik/Shares will be easy. Yes things will look different but the path you use is the same. Qik/Shares is very easy to use. And not as backward as you think. NRSA passes much easier to do, including ZEDs. And the product we will have will be enhanced as we go forward. Having out own IT dept makes it easier to make those changes with little cost. And not have to wait months for something like we did with Sabre. And to finally have one system will make it so much better for our customers.

I can honestly say I will NOT work March 4th. I've been through this 2 other times and NO MORE.

This past week has been absolutely horrendous..with all the weather delays and cancellations...Sunday was an absolute nightmare! Especially in the Florida cities..add OVERBOOKINGS to that scenario...I'm glad we didn't CUTOVER this week, cause it almost certainly would have been a disaster. 🙄

GOD HELP US ONE AND ALL!!!! _/\_

Of course there will be some eff-ups but by and large the thing will go down smoothly. If not, just listen to some old Dick Dale surfing music and go with it, dude!
