I'm sorry to hear that.
Any idea on how many are being cut & when?
I dont know the time frame but I understand it to be 40 mechanics. They are able to bid system wide though.
I hope they all bump DTW and MSP and take out anyone with 8/20/2005 and lower seniority.I dont know the time frame but I understand it to be 40 mechanics. They are able to bid system wide though.
please post any further details you might have
If I get anymore details I will post them.
So, what does get their choice really mean? Open positions, or means they can bump into where ever they choose if they have senority over another AMT, or bump into a station even if they don't have senority? I know the last one is pretty far fetched. The guys getting bumped are most likely senior to someone in most stations. Next when does this all happen? I couldn't find anything on the Tech Ops home page last night (I know that sound shocking).32 is the final number I heard. I also heard they will get their choice of any other maintenance station...don't know how true that is though.
Please don't take what I heard as fact. I guess we will just have to wait and see.So, what does get their choice really mean? So a NWA 8/20/2005 or lower seniority scab's job is safe from a high seniority laid-off CVG Delta AMT?We were told they could bid to open positions only.

Sounds like a true example of at-will employment.

Wow, sounds like they're screwed.
But that's ok, as long as it's not happening to you. Right?
Union = job security. 🙄
non union = at will, see ya layer, don't let the door hit ya in the arse on the way out. :angry:
