What's new

day one of two day negotiations anybody have a clue whats going on?

As usual we must find out through the media, The TulsaWorld, that no agreement was reached. Why are we paying dues for this substandard service?

AA and the TWU studied the matter, and came to the conclusion that there was "no need to know" on the part of the membership; therefore, no need to tell you anything. You obviously don't see the big picture here.

Well it will appear that the TWU contract will be abrogated, now management will have not be able to blame the union contract any longer we will have the work rules they want (even though AA signed on to those contracts in the past) We will also see if OH is truly a boat anchor around AA's neck.

Rumor in Tulsa is that there is a deal between TWU and AA but will not be disclosed until next week, whereby James C Little will have to sign off on it because there will not be enough time for a membership vote.

That's the beauty of accounting, Duke - one can get any results one wants.

What I don't understand is the management comment that they hope to have a consensual agreement in place within the next 10 days (per the Tulsa fishwrapper) - if there's no voting going on, how is this to happen? Is little jimmy going to "without further ratification" the contract? If so, I wonder how much that will cost the company.

That would fit in with my question, D. Obviously well planned.

After yesterdays promise to keep us informed and let us know ASAP, they drop the ball once again with NONcommunication.
Feeding the yellow card drive.

Rumors getting more specific now.

Reduced from a 6 year deal down to 3 years.
Some Holidays Back
Signing Bonus
and increase in early out amount.

The TWU is really interested in your opinion, there just will not be enough time for them to hear your opinion.

THEY CAN DO THAT.....

... BROTHER!

If Jimmy Little signs off on a deal,it will be the end of the TWU...

A loud YES to that one.
The yellow card drive continues to be fed by incompetent incumbents.

If the Judge holds fast to his deadline of 22 June without an extension, TWU is in trouble. Not enough time for a vote on an agreement and get the results independently verified before the deadline.

You all might want to study your Intn C&B (not the local or district). If the TWU is like the IAM, the Grand Poopa (Intn President) can over-ride the will of the people if he/she (yeah right, a she..lol) feels it is in best interest of the membership as a whole. Buffenbarger threatened to do so with the TWA f/as many years ago...

If that happens, we all will be watching reruns of the movie, Mutiny on the Bounty.

When James C Little signed off on our current agreement in 2003 "without further ratification", I believe Local 562 challenged that pratice in court and the Judge ruled that the TWU International President can do that..... brother

Maybe when Bob Owens is no longer gagged then he can give more specific details as he was personally invovled and I am only going by memory attached to a 50 year plus old brain.

We could start a Ungag Bob Owens Petition, and write bitchy complaint letters to the judge.
