day one of two day negotiations anybody have a clue whats going on?

Do you know if AA seriously wants do this? Can AA be cost competitive? It would seem to be a large capital investment and the only way we'd get competitor's business is if it were spun off. Airlines really don't seem to like competitors making money off them.

If the company was serious about accomplishing something like this, first they would have to get the wage to the legacy carrier average.

The company would rather create a hostile workforce and pay them MRO wages and keep Overhaul in house.

This management team has already ran off airframe work and farmed out some of our own.

Possibly a revaluation of the airframe overhaul operation to meet such goals could be achieved.

I work "for" some members of management that
are only in fear of their jobs and take their frustrations out on the mechanics daily.

Until management practices the policies they have purchased or retire them and fix airplanes by getting
the workforce on board, nothing they try will work.

I really wasn't to concerned about our pay back when we had a accruing pension & Retiree medical because for the past 10 years my main goal had been to retire at 55 that was my Parachute out of this business but now that we lost both of those pay has jumped to the top of my list because rebuilding Parachutes takes lots of money, a few vacation days & holidays would be nice but really I want to make at least as much as United does $37 and hour, $5 dollars more an hour would go a long way in building a new parachute. 🙄

Yes sir that's me, Nice to meet you, hope to see you next time i'm standing in front of the base with a vote no sign with just one other brave Man, I know there has to be more than 2 brave Men at the Tulsa base, well that's probably just optimistic thinking but if they come back with a really concessionary contract I will post that me & Tom will be out there on this bulletin Board & see what happens, more than likely we will be standing out there by ourselves again but gotta at least give people a chance to step up to the plate. 🙄

With 25+ years as a A&P Mechanic at AA I know AA very well also.
Come by & meet me sometime I'm even more Interesting in person, yes i'm a bit cocky & a little Arrogant but that makes things Interesting. B)
