What's new

day one of two day negotiations anybody have a clue whats going on?

Today's the day the axe falls. Each supv is having an individual meeting with mgmt. My supv's is at 930. His wife has already been walked out.

In TUL.

Good luck with that!!
Yes I know it won't happen, but I can dream can't I ..... LOL

If you don't see that the International pulls the strings to control the dues machine, then you never will !!!
sure they control the due's but our due's are typical of most Unions, I'm just saying that the Presidents are the one's responsible for negotiating & bringing back contracts & we vote on them so the Members are the reason we don't have decent contracts not the International, some President's are easily influenced no doubt about it but not all of them are, In order to get good contracts we need good Presidents & Members that are willing to vote NO until they get something worth voting yes on, for the most part we don't have either, changing Unions won't fix that.

Now wait a minute Bob I know your not saying that normally (not in a BK situation) that the President's don't have a roll call vote to decide whether to bring a contract back to the Membership, Every President makes his own vote he can choose to vote how the International would like him to but he can also choose not to as you do, this BK is NOT business as usual as we all know so I can understand that some things are being done differently, let's not mislead anyone that what is happening here is normal & that the President's in the TWU aren't the one's negotiating our contract then deciding if it get's brought back to the membership, we both know that is the case. The President's for the most part are antonymous & run their locals the way they want that is why Local 562 website is Waaay different that Local 514 website & why you & the other Line President's were able to make a vote no video while Tulsa didn't participate & Every none of the Presidents were removed from office by the International, yes I know they can & will do it under certain circumstances but the Presidents do have a lot of leeway to run their Locals their way.
You have answered your own question and don't even realize it. The int would not have leverage to bribe the local presidents with int positions if there were no appointed positions. The very organizers that you report to are appointed and therefore the ibt is no different than the twu. We have only one choice and that is the AMFA. You are fighting for the very samething that you say you hate. This does not say very much for you and your ability to figure out who has there hands on your shoulders.

I have faith.

As with all management "realignments", only the most worthless will be retained (with a very few notable exceptions who will serve as scapegoats) while those which the company actually needs in order to rebuild will be sent home for the wrong reasons.

The same inmates are running their asylum - only the names and faces have changed.

What you don't get is that it really doesn't matter what Union any of us are for because there is a reason why the TWU has been at AA for over 50 years, the Line & Tulsa are divided & need each other to get enough cards for any competing Union to call for an Election, It's just not going to happen dude so don't get your hopes up, I did back in 2003 when AMFA was at it's peak & we still didn't get to an Election, having lost several Airlines AMFA is far from it's peak today & IS a lot less popular in Tulsa, 12 months from now you will see that I am right, AA Mechanics can't get on the same page about much of anything so we deserve to be stuck with the TWU. :angry2:
By the way this thread is about the Negotiations not the Unions card drives, there is a thread for that.

It is good that I have had the workplace violence training provided by the company.

Me too hide behind something Metal if you hear loud noises that sound like gun fire etc. Joking of course, I don't expect anyone to get to carried away, although it does seem to happen at post offices for some reason, I have heard of some folks resisting at AA in the past, no point in it really though.

Nah I don't proclaim to be any of those but some people do need to be reminded of necessary rules sometimes as some people get carried away with unnecessary insults when someone doesn't think exactly the way they do, no point in bullying someone from behind a keyboard, nothing honorable about that, hey are you the same Buck that is in Hanger 4D ???

I see you have both the Teamster & the TWU Logo as your signature, can't make up your mind ?? B)
don't respond this isn't a Union thread it's a negotiations thread no point in getting that started here too.

July 9 recent post said nothing at all. They will keep us posted like that?
With TWU negotiating, I'm afraid of what they might have agree more than what issues still remaining.

AMT, if they do not come to us with a fair deal vote it down again. We need better representation now, for me that is number one priority. Go AMFA.

Moderator then.

Bully from behind a keyboard is relatively safe as Rule 32 may not apply.

I am the same Buck from 4D after being pushed to the hangar from the 1995 SRP program.

Both logo's , yes but my point is both are industrial unions in collusion with one another.

Hopefully rule 32 wouldn't apply but it isn't an honorable thing to do for sure & yes it is safe in many ways which is why it's a cowards attack of choice, it is the Moderators job to insure that the board rules are followed as they are there for a GOOD reason so everyone can enjoy the board but as the rules state the moderators can't be everywhere because this is a big Board, that's why they have provided a handy report button for people to press to alert the Moderators that their attention in a particular thread is needed, doubtful anyone get's booted for a violation or two but if it get's to the point where they absolutely can't play nice with others then I'm sure they would be booted for the good of the whole community & their IP addresses locked out, so no i'm not a moderator but don't mind letting them know when there is a problem that needs their attention so the rest of us can enjoy the forum free from Intimidation & personal Insults over someone's opinion.

Most of us have no problem making our point without resulting to personal attacks, it's not that hard to do really so let's just keep it civil so we can all enjoy the Board ..... just as a review. 🙄
now back to the thread topic.

Point of Order! Back on topic. What's going on?!??!!
Some on this forum are seen as aggressive. Others see it as an insult. When one "insults" to a certain degree the other retorts and it is to and fro. Then name calling etc.
It has been referred to as behind the keyboard attacks. Threats are made, but never followed through.

It is definitely off topic. This how these threads get off topic, with someone's ego becoming bruised.
In these exchanges bother are correct and both are wrong. But to threaten to rat out a user on these forums is going to far. Just put those you do not on ignore and move on.
