Like I said, I was a Democrat when I was younger. I also used to smoke, drink, stay out until 4am, skip church, skip voting, and not think twice about anything beyond the current semester in college. I even worked in a union shop.

But, I grew up in the north, where that was all the norm.

Fortunately, most of grow out of that mindset. Getting out of the DemoStates is what opened my eyes. My kids were raised differently as a result.

Just to be clear on who is a chicken hawk let's take a look a who was President when a war broke out.

WWI - Wilson, DEMOCRAT
WWII - Roosevelt. DEMOCRAT
Korea - Truman, DEMOCRAT
Vietnam - Johnson, DEMOCRAT

Seeing a pattern here are we?

Fast forward to now and Bush in Iraq, that's ONE Republican war, then add in Obama's to date broken promise to end the current Iraq & Afghanistan conflicts, throw in Libya, where Obama Lied and Diplomats died, Sprinkle in Yemen and troops in Jordan support Syrian rebels. So with the notable exceptions of the Bush Wars, EVERY other war were DEMOCRATS in office.

Of further interest is after WWI, Korea, Vietnam we had Republican Presidents swept into office. A brief look at history can be enlightening.

Interesting since you are not taking in to account who started what that you convenient ignored recent US skirmishes started with in the last ... OH 30 years or so. Who started those? You know the ones, Grenada, Nicaragua, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq. Interesting definition of 'every' No troops in Libya or Yemen as far as I am aware. Regan lost 200+ in Lebanon. People have a tendency to get killed when they are in regions that have conflict..

I must admit, I do like the glasses that you view history through. Mush more pleasing for ones own POV.

Takes two to mak a war. Charles Lindbergh was an adamant foe of our entry into WWII and a brief look at how we provoked the Japanese into attacking us doesn't put Roosevelt in a very good light.

Same with Wilson who used the sinking of the Lusitania as our premise to enter WWII.

Golf of Tonkin was a complete fabrication to allow us some cover to attack Vietnam.

All of the above was part of our Empire building, war mongering plan and has carried over until this very day. Obama is merely the latest in a long line of democrat war mongers beholden to Wall Street and Big Banks.

When you dig just below the surface you find that our government has done some pretty despicable things. Also of note is all of these wars took place after the Federal Reserve Act was signed into law. Cause & effect?

Not sure of a direct causal link, however consider that the Federal Reserve pretty much paved the road to Corpratism and the rise of the Banksters which ARE the cause of most of the wars post 1960.

Its a shame our President is so ignorant. In Afghanistan US forces use horses quite a bit. Hell, they used horses hunting down Bin Laden.

And did anyone mention to the CIC that Marines still issue bayonets? In close combat, Jack, your ass relies on the bayonet.

So Bear, your hopes for that line being rpeated over and over will come true but it will be in Mitt ads. LOL

You do know what he actually said in the debate...look at the word "fewer":

Their talking points are more interesting than what was really said. Just as the Pelosi quote, the Romney quote and a few others. Far easier to misslead the frings because they do not verify or research anything they read.
