Have you seen the new red "Dynasty" dress?

Yeah that'll look cool when they are serving peanuts and Coke to Pensacola. 🙄

Not to mention that it took the company $1000 an employee to design and implement the new uniforms.

Tell me how you would react if you found out that US wasted that much for the uniforms. i can already see the posts saying they would rather wear a potato sack and accept a $1000 bonus check.

US Management spent over 1.5 Million on the new music for the hold/demo video back in 2003 and no one said a word. I think spending money on things that really benefits the employees and gives our company a professional edge would be well received by the employees.

those poor poor girlz. Try not to stare and/or snicker as you pass them in the airports/vans/hotels.

The Delta girls look actually really good. So far best dressed F/A's right behind AA in the USofA. Hint Hint US! And for those who dont agree with me, you dont want to look like Southwest. There are a million reasons why. Heres one. You're providing service to Europe. Comepeting with over 20 airlines over the Atlantic, including many European airlines, that have much better attire. At least try to match up w/ em. ... Ah those beautiful Polish girls on LOT!

How funny. DL is in BK no less...they've obviously got money to burn on 18,000 uniforms. Wonder if the BK and creditors know??? Doesn't sould like a struggling carrier at all.

With regard to U, I would rather the money go into uniforms, because I KNOW as sure as I'm sitting her typing that the company would NEVER give the f/as $1,000 each.

Instead, Management would find a way to just stuff the money in their pockets including your Hindendess, DP.

Delta and Richard Tyler Unveil New Uniform Design

Los Angeles-based fashion designer Richard Tyler, renowned for his impeccable tailoring and elegant eveningwear, will debut his newly designed Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) uniform collection on the runway during Fall 2005 New York Fashion Week. Tyler's couture designs, which have been worn on the red carpet by such celebrities as Jamie Lee Curtis, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Rachel Griffiths, Catherine Zeta Jones, Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Heather Locklear and Faith Hill among others, will also be shown on the runway in conjunction with the new Delta uniform collection. The pairing of these two elements on the runway is unique to the fashion industry, and promises to be an exceptional interpretation of both form and function.

The sophisticated and perfectly tailored new uniforms will be worn by more than 20,000 Delta Air Lines public contact employees worldwide beginning early 2006. The new look is part of the airline’s transformation plan, long-term brand strategy and investment in distinguishing itself in the marketplace.

“Richard Tyler’s extraordinary fashion vision and attention to quality has resulted in a uniform design that complements Delta’s product, brand and image transformation strategy,†said Paul Matsen, Delta’s chief marketing officer. “Delta’s customer service professionals are ambassadors of the Delta brand and will embody confidence and professionalism in their sophisticated new attire. For Delta customers, the new uniforms represent our commitment to provide a superior as well as stylish travel experience for our customers worldwide.†Delta’s various employees working in the airport, Crown Room Clubs, city ticket offices, and onboard its airplanes will sport distinct variations of Tyler’s designs.

With the use of powerful colors such as midnight, navy, red, platinum and gold, Tyler makes a strong departure from the light grey uniforms of Delta’s past. The tailored wardrobe includes knitwear and outerwear to cover all work styles and seasons. Additionally, Tyler will unveil uniform accessory options later this month, including shoes and luggage, that Delta employees can choose to purchase.

“Being able to create a uniform that employees will feel proud to wear and that reflects Delta’s rich history and commitment to quality air travel was a wonderful opportunity,†explains Tyler. “It allowed me to expand upon the usual boundaries of fashion design to bring back the timeless elegance and style that was very much alive in history during the classic age of travel.â€

This is the same attitude my ex-wife has. "Why do you need to spend money on such-and-such? Why don't you just hand the cash over to me to blow?" 🙄

Feel free to start your own airline with used McDonald's uniforms and $1,000 bonuses, analogous to my ex getting a job and running her household as extravangantly as she wishes.

BTW the Delta uniforms look fabulous IMHO! Although I wonder if there will be too much red for those who wear a 3X size. 😀

I like them, it seems they are trying to class it up a bit instead of the lowest common denominator approach of the prison issue jump suit of Airways' proposal

Who is to say they aren't forcing the FA's to pay for the uniforms? No union contract over there.

When is the last time you saw an F/A built like a runway walker? (of offense girls, but I know most of you do like to eat things other than celery and carrots.)
