Delta cements standing as America's worst miles program by removing award chart from website

that is a good way to lose some of the top peeps who want to use the mileage etc

Deflect and spin.
*shocked*

and yet DL has the highest yield among US carriers.

no, the subject IS whether a company is profitable or whether they need to give away their product.

So WHY has the chart been Cut?

As World Fraudster would say, what difference does that make?

just because you can't see the proof doesn't mean that something is not true.

I don't want to take the thread off topic, but suppose that DL and WN get into a nasty PR or legal fight with respect to service to DAL, it is short-sighted greedy stunts like this that I'm sure WN PR people will be more than happy to point out in pretty impressive fashion.

your logic is backward

free tickets are calculated in the yield data that airlines report publicly and that goes in the average fare data that the DOT collects.

it is precisely because there have been reports that WN has had the highest increase in average fares that there needs to be competition.

the fact that DL has the highest average fares of US carriers AND is still able to add more capacity than any other US carrier says that DL is pricing its product, including the freebies that go with it, at the highest level the market will support and generating the best returns for stockholders.

another data point on the same issue is that DL has the smallest percentage of premium seats on its int'l aircraft and yet has an average fare premium to the industry across both the Atlantic and Pacific. clearly a lot of other carriers have walkup bars and give far more upgrades that don't generate revenue and DL doesn't need to do those things and still generate more revenue.

as much as the media and some passenger advocacy groups would like to convince some otherwise, the point of a company is not to give away the most amount of freebies but to maximize profits.

DL gets it; the vast majority of people on this forum do not.

It's not a surprise that DL people will take home (or open their e pay statements to see 11.5% more of their 2014 pay in profit sharing- on top of the 5% they got late last year.

the people who are concerned about how much I post should ask themselves how this site has become such an intellectual wasteland that 3/4 of the people argue about clear business principles in the name of trying to shut up someone who actually realizes what is going on.

Yes DL gets it they want to screw their good customers

Why don't you complain that the grocery store doesn't give you every 20th or 10th or 5th bottle of milk/soda/wine free?

DL gives its customers high quality service and thus doesn't have to give away near as much free.

it's basic economics... which is why so many people here can't get it.

DL gets it

If there was ever any question regarding World Fraudster's credibility, the statement (the post) above says it all.
He has no credibility.
This guy has not met a decision that DL has ever made that he did not like.

Pissing off KE and AS = strategic network move
DL Express and Song = success to winning in NY
Trainer refinery = altering worldwide fuel prices
DL-VS JV = making more money than any airline partnership ever
Devaluing SkyMiles = strategy to get more customers

There is nothing World Fraudster could ever write/post on here that won't be biased or twisted into a DL rules the world narrative.

every 5th bottle? no. doubt it is even every 20th - unless you have a whole lot of other food purchases along with it.

tell us which grocer, the details of their incentive program, and compare to their profitability to other grocers.

unlike the CheapPassenger, I expect you can actually deal with facts instead of hyperbole

she discredits herself by continuing to rephrase what was said into something that was nowhere near said - and then says that I am lying.

you really should do something about the flimsy intellectual framework that has come to define so many on this site.

OK World Fraudster, you want to talk about hyperbole?
Why don't you show everybody the facts to back this up:
DL's strategy with VS has already generated far more revenue for DL than any other airline partnership has for any other airline in the same period of time.

Come on Mr. Whole Truth - show us the data.  You know the facts, so that there can be intelligent debate.
Demonstrate to us your intellect.

You certainly have demonstrated that you have a wild imagination for story telling, now how about some facts.

the point of a company is to maximize revenues, not see who can give away the most awards.

Maybe they should discontinue non-reving....

Buy 10, get one free. No other purchase(s) required.
10 of what?

and what is the discount for other items? they give away 10% of all their products?

Maybe they should discontinue non-reving....
non-revving fills seats that can't be sold. Employees don't buy their company's product to begin with, for the most part

I'm sure it has never dawned on you that carriers are doing a better job than ever in filling seats. If carriers can fill 85% plus of their seats and still leave a few crumbs for their employees, then no one loses.
