Delta customers frustrated by outage

Which means it can't be validated so therefore it can't be believed

no, it can be validated by those who have access to the information.

or those who were actually using DL's systems or flights at the time.

other than the usual pi78ing contest on here, no one else is even talking about it...

suppose that means it amounted to nothing or was so overshadowed by snow and ice that some relatively minor IT issues couldn't have changed a thing?

I don't think anyone said that it was ever acceptable to have IT operating at less than maximum performance - just that the weather issues vastly overshadowed whatever was going on with IT

Maybe it wasn't systemwide because the locations still using green-screen were up?...

Having the IT crap out during a weather event simply compounds the problems already facing the front line employees. It's the difference between having a flat tire in your driveway or in the middle lane of an interstate in rush hour.

you need only look at the percentages of flights that were cancelled or delayed by carrier in the most effected cities and across the system to know whether it was as major as some would like to believe.

was it a real issue? yes. Did it come close to overshadowing the other issues that were also affecting the operation or eliminate DL's existing advantage in IROPS mgmt.? no.

again, everyone else has moved on.

even the data you would have to use to make your point about how bad it was is becoming harder to access... which means you will just be shooting from the hip... oh wait

200 mainline flights canceled and many more regional partner flights were canceled

so what was the reason for all of those cxld AA and UA flights?

were their systems out too?

NO, it is about your assertion that DL delayed and cxld flights because of IT issues.

you pulled the number of flights without being able to show how many flights were affected for any of various reasons on a day that there were abundant weather delays.

DL has said there were flights that were affected... but you don't know that number and given that other carriers had significant delays due to weather, it is a bold faced lie to say that DL cxld hundreds of flights because of IT issues.

other than you and your anal need to try to find SOMETHING to find wrong with DL, who honestly cares?

Sorry you brought in AA and UA - this is a thread about an IT outage DL experienced and it had to cancel some flights - nothing more - I think your the one making it into something else

DL had an operational issue - everyone on here knows its hard for you

you brought up cancellations that you can't prove.

you are wrong.

no one has doubted DL had IT issues.

you want to try and make it bigger than it is because you can't stand that DL actually wins in the marketplace where it is documented and I bring it up.

grow up and move on unless you can prove something - unless of course kindergarten was as terribly of a traumatic time in your life as you clearly indicate.

throwing mudballs without facts is what 5 year olds do.

you are the only person who could turn something like this into a pissing contest.

Good work.
