Now the question is how will CO, UA, AA and US will react. Here's what I think everyone will do.
CO Call United and talk somemore. And Possibly call AA so they both can spilt UA up because I don't think the DOJ would allow a stright thru CO+UA meger but then again this is the DOJ you know.
AA I could see a number of options on this one A. Join with CO and spilt up UA up, another one this one has been they may go by NW. If AA Management was smart they would have gone after DL when they had the chance, because that would have been a good merger I think.
UA I bet Tilton is about to crazy, since he just may get that parachute soon..... As I said I could see CO and AA spiltting this one up.
US I don't even want to go there...............

I don't agree....I think that as soon as the NW/DL merger is announced in a matter of hour, UA and CO will make a similar annoucrment. Even though there has been no press, I can assure you that those 2 companies have been in constant talks behind the scenes. Then where does that leave AA...with a whole lot of MD-80 wires in their hands. Their publicity from the last week of cancellations will make it almost impossible for them to make a play at this point. You may see them go after AS later but that may be harder then any other because Alaska does so well independently and has crossover contracts with many domestic carriers. US may be on its final legs unless they pair up with an Air-Tran or SW.

I work with them every day, at Delta, and they seem pretty DAMN happy !

I second that!! Any info you have been given by your union reps should be discarded. I Have friends from both WN and PA and they are good people and have been treated with dignity and respect. I am an original DL family member and I welcome you into our fold and only ask the same as I don't take your respect and acceptance for granted. Just know that most here at Delta will help in any way we can.
