Delta & United Merger ?

Who in their right mind would want to merge with LCC and have to deal with Easts employees? LCC won't be part of any further consolidation until they fix their employee problems.
 
While I'm no Parker supporter, I find it hard to believe that we are not talking to anyone. If we are NOT we are gonna be in big trouble. As much as Parker talks about mergers I don't think he'd sit idle as everyone consolidated around him. Who would it be? Northwest is about all we'd really fit with practically. I did say practically so......we know how that goes. 🙄

You may be right but if this gets any traction I would look for us to be looking at CO or NW in the near future.
 
Does this leave US to merge with NW? look at the compatabilities.

Pros -

-Both arilines fly Airbus aircraft including A319 and A330 types.
-MEM hub could be dropped on NW side in favor of CLT resulting in capcity cuts
-PHL hub nightmare could be dropped on US side in favor of DTW resulting in capcity cuts
-Pissed off work force from both sides could easily be merged to one large pissed off group and get larger discount on antidepressant medication.

PHL - DCA - BOS - MEM
 
If this happens, it's not good news for US. We would have to hook up with someone to compete. My first choice would be CO but they have not expressed any interest in a merger.

I have to believe that a very cold chill just settled over the castle. Consolidation has begun and US will be the ugly step-sister that no one wants.

No one will want anything to do with LCC as long as the East pilots are in kamikaze mode and happy to destroy other people's investments.
 
Potentially horrible news for Doogie. As many people have stated in the past, IF UAL/DAL combine, this leaves NW/CAL merging and AA not needing to as would still have the sheer size to go it alone. Where that leaves LCC is anybodies guess, thought its options would be rather bleak. Doogie himself said LCC doesn't have much to bring to the merger table when compared to the afformentioned carriers.
 
wow, just imagine if US became the new flagship North American star alliance carrier after UA's exit.
 
The sounds of the staplers would be deafening if US ends up liquidating because they are left out. Maybe that is why DoUgIe has been looking ragged.

UA is one of the founding members of *A. What makes you think that they'd leave *A? Even though DL was one of the founding members of SkyTeam there's still CO to remain in that alliance.

I don't see UA ever leaving *A.
