Alot of people at work today have been saying the D2 pass prices have all most doubled.

If they are talking about the UK, the taxes went up big time yesterday, somewhere around $350 in tax alone. Otherwise it appears to be the same.

Just browsed through some D2 to various places in Europe and it looks like all the taxs went up. Most to about $200. Guess Europe is out for vacation this year.

I guess if TFC had bothered to do a little research before posting he would have known this. Instead he let his emotions get the better of him.

As allways
😀

South America Also has gone up must be a conspiracy

Not quite true, UK went up and France. The other countries have remnained constant. Great Britain is charging us approximately 110 USD for taxes on a 35USD service charge. AA has not raised service charges at all. I guess the moral of this news is choose another country besides England to fly thru. Bloody Brits.

I disagree. He reported a rumor. Without emotion, I might add. Many rumors have a basis in truth. Several posters gave good information that informed us all and put the rumor in perspective.

Thank you, TFC, for posting. Thank you, who replied with information.

Jetnet Jetwire Feb 01

U.K. TAX INCREASE EFFECTIVE TODAY---
Taxes for flights departing the United Kingdom increase by approximately 50 percent today. This applies to all flights from the U.K., including long-haul flights to the United States and flights within the European Union (EU). This tax applies to all travel including non-revenue (NRSA) charges. The taxes can be calculated on Jetnet's NRSA Charges page, located in the Non-Rev Travel Planner.

I have to disagree. Remember, the title of his thread is "Did AA raise all D2 INTL travel prices, "Another screw job by AA". If using the term "Another screw job by AA" is not one based in part on emotion I don't know what is.

While there are rumors that have basis in truth there are many that have nothing to do with the truth. Or in this case a half truth.

In addition to what is posted above one has to consider TFC himself. He is bitter and looks for way to slam AA any time he can (see the AA v, JB thread). He posted this thread with out even taking 5 min to verify facts that are there for all to see.

IMO, he chose to post this with out any attempt to verify his information. IMO, he did this maliciously just to show how evil AA is. While they have definitely screwed some things up, I am not of the opinion that he did this out of concern for his fellow employees.

His credibility is near 0. I would not trust him if he told me the sun would rise in the East.

But isn't it true that if you are just transferring, you can get a refund on the taxes if you submit it somewhere (NRSA or somewhere) within a certain amount of time (i've heard it was 30 days)?

You are correct I am bitter and disgruntled.
I go to work everyday that way. Give AA the safest product on the market by the book 100 percent.

It is a shame that they use to get much more out of me before the concessions.

A few friends did some traveling to South America and were quite upset that the price of the tickets nearly doubled.

I just thought that the company who charges us for the pass travel could have let us know about the increase.

AA seems to find plenty of time to cry the blues to us why not forewarn us about the increase in pass travel.

As far as trust goes you trust me every time you fly.
You just take it for granted
😀

Go to the Travel section of Jetnet. In the Updates & Announcements portion there is a notice dated 1/16/2007 stating that on 2/1/2007 taxes for flights departing the UK will increase by approximately 50%.

Nah. We're getting into parsing here, but I would describe it as nothing more than an incorrect assumption.

I have been around way too many emotional people for this to even appear as a blip on my emotion radar PPI.
