Hi y'all,
I was just curious if anybody has heard if the EMB170's or any of the CRJ's are going to express stations. And if so, where? You would think that they would want to get rid of that Shuttle America company who are flying those SAAB 340 A models around and start getting gets into profitable express routes like LEX and TOL.

The CRJ's go to many "Express" stations as well as "Mainline Express" and Mainline stations. The EMB-170's will hub from PIT and go through PHL. Some originating markets are in upstate NY etc...

Was talking with a Shuttle America crew a few days ago - it seems that the leases on the Saabs are running out, and SA has no plans to replace them. Three have already gone back this year.

"What are you supposed to fly then?" I asked.

The reply? "I guess we'll shut down?"

The CRJ is currently serving some express routes (still a little sporadic, alternating with the Dorniers). Examples being YOW, HPN, DAY, EVV. There are more, but I can't think of them all at the moment.

Everyone is gonna get the erj 170 in the us air system! thats the future of the company.

Mesa has operated CRJ's all over the system (DCA, CLT and PHL) for several years. It's nothing new. For places like HGR, there aren't enough passengers to support a jet and the airport doesn't have the appropriate facilties either.
