Donald Sterling Clippers owner alleged racist.

Is it is a bad thing to call out a racist just because he is on the same polite side? I realize conservatives typically don't do it but .....

I'm quite content to simply call out racists for being racist, regardless of their voting record, but it's hard to ignore how often Democrats play the race card, and then remain silent on it when it is their own kind engaging in the behavior. And I'm not just talking about idiots like Sterling -- I'm talking everyday racism practiced by guys like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Assuming it's not another MSNBC-esque manufactured recording (hardly unthinkable anymore), this guy is just a modern day Marge Schott.

You'll hear outrage, apologies, a large donation made to some politically acceptable charity, and short of someone buying out his ownership stake, that will be about it. The NBA can fine or suspend him from "day to day operations" but that's about it. They can't force him out. Since the team is worth $575B, I doubt anyone will be stepping up to buy him out on impulse, and in the end, he'll still make money out of the deal.

Temper temper. Looks like my remark hit pretty close to spot on.

If Republicans weren't so terrified of being labeled the "racist party" they know themselves to be, they wouldn't be so quick to pounce on every single petty, smarmy accusation of racism by a Democrat. And you know it's true.

It was those racist republicans that got the blacks civil rights laws passed.

This clown isn't something just found along the highway, he's been a bigtime racist donator to the DNC and they knew how he is....just as every black free agent who signed for his team...So whats the big deal?  Just look the other way and deposit $10,000.

How's those typical white folk that raised Obama doing these days BTW?

I tend to reserve judgement on accusations of racism against people of color mainly because I haven't lived the experience of, you know, *actual* racial prejudice (read= not white man syndrome). Perhaps if you had walked a lifetime in the shoes of a person of color, you might have a different understanding.

Just as the modern day Republican party would be unrecognizable to Lincoln, yesterday's Dixiecrats are not the Dems of today. They would flee from them, just as the South has done. I can't believe I am here giving an 8th grade history lesson, yet here I am

Need a tissue? You're so desperate to assuage your racial guilt and complain so you can gain attention for yourself. This train wreck is going to be fun to watch. Liberals demonizing liberals, pass the popcorn !

You know what's even more fun? Watching conservatives fall over themselves in an attempt to get away from this rabidly racist guy in Nevada as fast as they can, not because they are not racist themselves, but because they know he will not only hurt their cause, but they are afraid of the racist part of themselves they sometimes see as they glance at themselves in the hallway mirror. Sometimes its the parts that remind us of ourselves that we hate the most. But it's mostly the self-serving part.

We have had this discussion so many times on here and yet people still think that the republicans and dems of the 40's/50's/60's are the same today.

There are people who just refuse to pick up a history book and actually read about what happened.

Typo. They're worth $575M, and the damn forum software only allows changes for an hour or so.
