I've been reading all the postings concerning Doug's drunk driving charge. Granted it was bad judgement on his part but the bigger picture is the fact that people other than Doug were driving drunk that night and didn't get picked-up and put the general public in danger. The problem isnt just Doug..the problem is drunk driving overall.. I've read his press releases on how sorry he is. Besides saying your sorry Doug show how sorry you really are and make a sizable contribution to MADD..like $100,000...anyone else agree?

Jbjl29,

Great idea. I think you should submit your suggestion to your supervisor to be forwarded to the "exeuctive suite".

Thanks.

He may instead elect to contribute to DDAMM - Drunk Drivers Against Mad Mothers.

F*** that, make a donation to the Philly B scale 200 F/As. My friend just successfully applied for food stamps and government assistance... if you can afford a night out to drink and drive to begin with aren't you lucky.

I wouldn't waste a penny on MADD. There was this drunk who pulled up to a bar, went into this bar and tried to get served. The bartender refused to serve him, and told him that he had to leave. All this was caught on security cameras. The guy left and got back into his car and later he got into an accident, injuring a family of 4. I agree that he should be prosecuted to fullest extent of the law. But MADD marched and protested against this bar which did not serve him. And it was proven that he was not served a thing. For them to march and protest against this bar is falsely accusing. I wonder if that bar ever went after MADD for that. I know I would tell them, wake up and get their facts straight instead of spreading sh!t around. Ever since then I seen some of the BS they pull and I would never, ever give them the time of day. I agree that Driving Under the Influence is Hazzardous and irresponsible, and the person should get his punishment. I just have a problem with MADD and all their FALSE ACCUSATIONS! Say the truth, don't spread lies.

I find these type of gestures to possess more style than substance. It just comes across as a blatant attempt to "Buy Off" the critics rather than address any underlying issues. If DP has a problem he needs to address DP's problem first and foremost. You know charity beginning at home and all of that.

The healing needs to start in the Parker household. Screw all these groups with their hands out. The most important gift he can give his wife and kids is the gift of doing the right thing and taking care of his issues. This is an excellent opportunity for a CEO to behave in a very contrite and forthright manner and demonstrate true leadership and be a real agent for change.

Writing a check is what's wrong with America!! We think we can buy or spin our way out of anything. Let's see DP volunteering his time 2 to 4 hours a week as an alcohol counselor or grief counselor for DUI victims families. Let's see him doing Public Service Announcements on driving drunk.

That would show the full measure of the man not merely his cynical approach and hefty check book balance.

As always Piney, you've hit the nail on the head. I enjoy your posts.

I think he should donate to the following worthy causes:

Employee
Alliance
Towards
More
Equality

or

Crew
Resource
Alliance
Against
Poverty

Yeah...good idea......maybe that'll give them enough clout to lower the BAC to 0.02 so that wine or piece of bread or cough syrup you took will get you incarcerated.Screw MADD.Around 39% of all deaths come from cardiovascular disease...only 1.8% die in automobile accidents which of that 1.8% drunk related is an even smaller portion. So maybe we outlaw foods?Seems a bigger cause of sorrow over the loss of loved ones than some smack out in a car.Besides, stats show that no matter how low you make the BAC...problem drinkers still drink and drive,so now what?Public execution?

Do you weep everytime a fatman dies?

I watched that case on Court TV!! Sad, really sad!!! And that young girl got the book thrown at her!!!
I think she got 80 years.... 20 for each kid!!! With a minium of 60 years!!!! And I believe the girl was like 25 years old!!! She'll probably die in prison!!
Tragic story!!
Number of Infractions: 4

Also:
RECKLESS DRIVING (PRINCIPAL) 06/28/1996
I wonder if this one was a DUI plea bargain.

4 people are dead because she chose to drink and drive.
She's exactly where she belongs.

936,923 people died from clogged arteries.....

Not one chef went to jail.

Fry and drive? You decide...
