drug testing

Interviewing for a possible position regarding the drug testing program at UA. Can anyone tell me how they approach crew members at the gate and discreetly let them know they are to report for drug testing? Furloughed and wanting to come back.

They normally send it up to the pilots inflight. There will always be an official waiting when they open the doors so the crew members don't sneak past.

Any "interesting" story's, that you may have heard thru the grapevine, about any F/A's giving the Gestapo "the slip", waiting on the jetbridge ?

My observation, from the CSR view, is that they go down on jet bridge before a/c arrives, and wait while pax deplane. Very discreet. No one would ever know why they're there.

Nope, never heard anyone get away. Actually, once notified inflight, you have no choice but to go to testing. Usually, once we've been notified, everyone starts guzzling water like crazy to ensure a quick departure from drug testing to catch the commuter flight home.

The worst is when they get a large crew and you're sitting at door 5r on 47. Start calling for a hotel, only one person can test at a time and it looks like you are going to be the last one. sniff (that's happened to me)

Does anyone out there know if UAL drug tests on weekends? At US (East), you can count on it being done Monday through Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm.

United drug tests 24/7. If you do drugs, do not plan to work at United.
