That's not what I asked. What I asked is for you to show me where the President has come out in favor of this so called plan.
Its early in his venture....be patient.

I'm not talking about what may or may not happen in the future.
And I'm sorry, a couple of idiotic democratic congressmen does not the democratic party make.
It was discussed.....be patient......he can only solve one crisis per day.
When the time comes his fingerprints won't be on it anyway.....it will be a committee.
Maybe I was not clear enough. Could you or dapoes give some sort of evidence that supports the claim that he supports that plan. Very simple question.
Translation: We need some sucker nation to fund our new found socialist/porkulous society."I certainly do think that the Chinese government and central bank are making a smart decision by continuing to invest in Treasury bonds," she said during an interview with the popular talk show "One on One." "It's a safe investment. The United States has a well-deserved financial reputation."
In order to boost the economy, the U.S has to incur more debt, she said. "It would not be in China's interest if we were unable to get our economy moving,"
"What you're now seeing is ... profit and earning ratios are starting to get to the point where buying stocks is a potentially good deal if you've got a long-term perspective on it," the president said on a day that trading continued to hover under 7,000.
President Barack Obama is open to the idea of reaching out to moderate elements of the Taliban, The New York Times reported on Saturday.
A Taliban spokesman, who said that the US president's overture was a sign of weakness, poured cold water on the notion that "moderate" fighters could be easily turned.
Qari Yusuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman contacted by telephone, said: "They say they want to speak to moderate Taliban but they will not be able to find such people because we are united around the aim of fighting for freedom and bringing an Islamic system to Afghanistan." He added that Obama's comments were a reflection of the fact that the Americans had "become tired and worried".
 Err you really think there is such a thing as a "Moderate Terrorist"?You think he might have been speaking relatively? As in H2O ice is not as cold as dry ice? Both are damn cold. Perhaps there are some in the Taliban who are not as myopic as others. I doubt it but one never knows until one tries.
Piney,
How would you classify Claus von Stauffenberg?
In case your not aware, the Taliban is not a political party, they are a Islamic fundamentalism terrorist movement. You did not say most. You said "a" as in singular or a few. What I am suggesting, is that while most if not all of the Taliban can be considered violent, some may not be as twisted as the rest and they may be able to exert influence over others. I believe it is unlikely, but it should be explored. I would also suggest that an organization that conscripts members, will have members who are not true believers but are there out of survival.

Another soon to fail attempt at appeasement

I'm always open to negotiation, I just prefer to start those negotiations when my knee is on the other guys windpipe.
