Ex-Russian spy Anna Chapman proposes marriage to Edward Snowden

"The rest of the world may not want him, but NSA leaker Edward Snowden has at least one potential taker: Anna Chapman. The ex-spy tweeted yesterday, “Snowden, will you marry me?!”

The former Russian spy may have sympathy for the man who spilled top-secret documents. Chapman, after all, is no stranger to run-ins with government authorities.

The 31-year-old had been posing as a real-estate agent in the United States in 2010 when she was accused of gathering intel for Russia. She and nine others were deported back to Russia in a prisoner swap."

Merika doesn't do that anymore... 😛
Didn't you get the memo?

The GUARDIAN (the U K's version of the N Y Times) has I D'd... Edward Snowden as the National Security Administration Wistleblower, as it pertains to the governments reading E-Mails/Phone records. Further, they put Snowden in the SAME catagory as wiki leaks US Army pvt. Bradley Manning, or Pentagon Papers....Daniel Ellsberg.

Soooooo....REPUGS, a SIMPLE Question.
Are Snowden, Ellsberg and Manning HERO's,......or.....Villians ????????????????????????
Sorry GOPers, you don't get to seperate them !

On another (delicious) front, the vast majority of the F-U....REPUG party are Hanging 16' GOP SAVIOR Rubio, out to dry....all alone on the Immigration reform bill. This (of course) led by the WHACK-JOBS in the Tea-Potty Party.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha !

Looking like we been had.......

NSA Leaker “Outed” as Russian Agent

Putin was deceiving the West until they could get their hands on Snowden in Moscow.
These revelations are further evidence of how the Russians play the American media—and some Americans—like violins. It is the subject of the new book, Disinformation: Former Spy Chief Reveals Secret Strategies for Undermining Freedom, Attacking Religion, and Promoting Terrorism.
The Russian paper’s report is confirmation of the fact that Putin lied through his teeth about Snowden’s relationship with Russia and is now boasting about carrying out this monumental deception.

Bottom line is Snowden let the American People know the activities if their government. His motive to me are of no meaning. The greater good has been served. Secrecy in Government NEVER benefits the working class

Maybe the USA needs all to sign a TOS. Then they can gather as much on you and me as Google and Yahoo already have.

You do know that "The Government" is also the Defense Department and the Armed Forces, don't you?

Keeping some secrets does protect the USA. Do you think giving up all government secrets is a good thing?

If the "greater good" ends up killing American soldiers will you still support him and his kind?

A former KGB major says Russian spies disguised as diplomats in Hong Kong tricked National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden into flying to Moscow, where they’ve since harvested the former contractor’s sensitive intelligence knowledge.
“It was a trick and he fell for it,” 55-year-old ex-Major Boris Karpichko told The Mirror. ”Now the Russians are extracting all the intelligence he possesses.
According to Karpichko, the Kremlin leaked Snowden’s flight plan from Hong Kong to Moscow under the assumption that the U.S. would revoke it, which they did on June 22, stranding Snowden in the airport as of June 23.

Since obtaining asylum on Aug. 1, Snowden has been living under FSB protection in a Moscow suburb controlled by the agency, according to the former KGB spy.
“His flat is heavily alarmed to stop anything happening to him,” Karpichko said. “He meets the FSB twice a week over plenty of food and drink.”
“The Russians are very pleased with the gifts Edward Snowden has given them,” former KGB General Olig Kalugin said, echoing Karpichko’s assertion. ”He’s busy doing something. He is not just idling his way through life.”

YES, I will support Snowden.

If an American soldier gets killed in action. it's because he/she was Empire building at the behest of Crony Capitalist Barack Obama. We have no declared wars ergo no reason to have combat troops stationed in 900 bases around the world.

Care to name those bases and can you prove all 900 have combat troops stationed at them?  Or are you just repeating something you heard and did not bother to ask yourself was it really true?

Does that number include Marines based at US Embassies around the world?  Or how about the military attaches attached to those embassies.  And do those embassies constitute a base?

AFAIK, the 900 number does contain the 125 plus Embassy security contingents, most of which are pretty small in number. Even if you delete them from the cout and say 700 bases around the world it gives you an idea of the size and scope of the Empire we must maintain due to our foreign policy.

This policy wastes money that can be spent here at home to take care of our citizens.

That 900 number comes from an old Ron Paul quote, which was debunked back in 2011.

Paul Sr. latched onto a great statistic, but didn't bother to break it down because it would have shredded the point he was making.

It includes any and all space leased by the military, including unattended locations, and places where DOD employees are outnumbered by civilians and contractors.

Half the sites are in Germany (218), Japan (115) or Korea (86), plus another 30 in the UK just for the Air Force.

Another anomaly in that reporting... Each lease footprint is listed separately, and not all are manned.

Example:  Landstuhl, Germany... it is listed seven times.  Twice for Army facilities (separate physical locations) and five for the USAF.  Nobody is based at any of the five USAF sites.  The hospital has 800 military and over 1000 civilians assigned to it.

Another example:  Aviano AFB in Italy is listed nine times for the USAF:  the main base, five annexes, and three housing complexes located outside the base perimeter.

A third example:  Undersea monitoring stations in the Bahamas,

A fourth example:  Lajes AFB is listed nine times (same reasoning as Aviano)

Take a look at the source that Paul's staffers decided to manipulate:

http://www.acq.osd.mil/ie/download/bsr/bsr2010baseline.pdf

The detail of what they called an overseas site starts on page 81.  The staffing is in the last three columns.  Notice how many are zeros...

A base in my mind would be company strength or higher (i.e. >100), and that limits the list down to about 15 countries, half of them NATO allies: Bahrain, Belgium, Cuba, Egypt, Greece, Greenland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, U.A.E., and the United Kingdom.

Seems to me the claims of "empire building" are a bit thin once the details come out, eh?

Doesn't change the fact that the USA has far to many troops on foreign soil for no valid reason IMO beyond Empire building. Quibbling about the exact number is merely rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. We can no longer afford the Empire.

We have debt and guarantees totaling more then the entire worlds GDP three or four times over and you're talking about counting Aviano 9 times? Well the likely reason it's counted 9 times is because there are likely 9 different command groups stationed at one facility.

There are something like 42 bases surrounding Iran alone. Does it matter that the geographic bases may house 3 or 4 seperate commands? NO! we have still surrounded a country with which we have no formal declaration of war against.

So tell us who are the generals in the Middle East?
General Motors?
General Electric?
General Dynamics?
General Tire?

5,00 + dead, for who? For what? If/when Iran develops the capaqbility to deliver weapons to the shore of the US then I'll worry. But not much as we have the capability to wipe the little bastards off the face of the planet.

Uh, wrong. It has nothing to do with commands.

MCB Pendleton is listed as a single facility, and there are multiple commands there, including both Navy and USMC.

Sites are reported based on a contiguous property line around DOD property or leasehold.

Don't take my word for it -- go read the supporting document for yourself. Start on page 81. Don't do what far too many PaulBots seem to do, which is simply take the word of their Prophet at face value, and never actuallly look beyond those words at what's behind them.
