I have to hand it to the GOP marketers...they successfully convinced a guy living in a trailer driving a 15 year old pick to work two jobs that he will be subject to the "death tax" and his heirs would lose everything he worked for. Or that they are in the 90% tax bracket...or even better, that they will benefit from a "middle class" tax cut that gave them a token cut (with an expiration date). Now Trump is floating a "payroll tax cut". Which actually WILL impact the middle class and which the upper class will barely notice, since the payroll tax is what funds Social Security, and there is an earnings limit of $137,000....so Bill Gates and others pay the same amount in as a guy working 80 hours a week and pulling in $137k per year earns. Meanwhile, the reduction in Social Security contributions makes a "crisis" which justifies eliminating this "entitlement".
