SAO PAULO, Brazil, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer (Sao Paolo:EMBR4.SA - News; NYSE:ERJ - News) on Tuesday said it hoped to receive a potentially "significant" order for jets from the Star Alliance, the world's largest airline partnership, this year.

"I believe that by the end of the year, in the second half, there will be confirmation," Antonio Luiz Pizarro Manso, Embraer's executive vice president of corporate administration, told Reuters after a presentation to analysts.
