Employees were asked to submit ideas for the renaming of "Plane Deal" the weekly US Airways publication on merger updates. The following is directly from the new "About US":

"Deal is Done; It’s All About US
With well over 100 entries, congratulations goes out to XXXXXX XXXXXXX, coordinator,
crew training scheduling and XXXXX XXXXX, DFW fsa, who both submitted the winning
name "about US" in the rename Plane Deal contest. XXXXX and XXXXX will not only see
their creative entry displayed in every edition of this publication, but they also win a
subscription to their favorite family-friendly magazine!"

Other suggested Names:
US Airwaves
about US
Wing Tips
The LCC Press
East/West Gazette
Flying Forward
Sky Lines

It is pretty easy to deal with submitted entries for naming publications but what about listening to employees at a hub who are concerned that they don't have enough equipment to do their fudgin' jobs?

here here!!

You know I looked at this thread and thought about putting a post about equipment problems in PHL I surfed a few other threads and now saw someone beat me to it.

So here is my 2 cents

The December issue (subject to change if Management fiinally gets on the ball)

LOST BAGS PILE UP IN PHILLY DUE TO NO EQUIPMENT!

Lets see just around 4 weeks before the sh#$ hits the fan.

Tick Tick Tick

The meter is running and times about to run out!

I agree with your point, but who is to say they have no plan to take action in Philly. The whole point of this thread is to show that employee voices are heard. I think we all hope that Philly is heard too. Can equipment problems be solved in such a short time? Can they get used equipment from another bankrupt airline? Who knows if it can or will be fixed before the holidays. Guess time will tell.

Word on the street (in Charlotte) is that PHL will be getting some NEW ground equipment soon. How soon, I don't know, but the powers that be are "shopping" at the current time.

Hopefully, it will not be too little too late.

Good luck to all.

Your the second poster I've heard that from. Can this be substantiated? If the equipment does arrive before the holidays it would be a major boost to east morale and perhaps silence many of the management critics. Wouldn't that be nice! 😉 Might even get some of them to drink some Kool-Aid 😀

If they do get new equipment, there should be an agreement signed by all rampers that anyone driving in a fashion as it could damage equipment should be sent packing. i.e. Jumping ramps like Evel Knievel, trying to pop wheelies, readjusting the governor, slamming into reverse while speeding forward, drag races... Don't think it doesn't happen. I've seen all of the above. If you treat the equipment like fudge, the equipment will treat you like fudge. :cop:
