Turned down a job offer as a mechanic with UA back in '86. Went with NW/DL instead. Wonder how my life would look now had I taken that SFO offer...

I wonder where I would be if I had taken the AA offer or Airborne Express.
Eastern was a flat no, Alaska and NWA too cold.
Pay wise it was a wash, standard of living wise OH would have been a better choice but living in Wilmington would have been "SUPER" boring.
Living in OK or OH in a mixed marriage would have sucked but pay/retirement wise, Airborne did better (if discounting my Wife's income and my non existent flight benefits).
Sometimes, life leads one in directions that we are not in control of.
For me, life after UA in the SF Bay Area has been a better move than being in OK or OH.
Some call it Karma, but for me GOD had a hand in my decisions.
I have no doubt in this.
Probably the best thing for you was NWA forcing you to move on to bigger and better opportunities. JMHO
But that's just me.
