This just in from Steve Forte, Senior VP Flight Operations; the already announced January '04 furloughs will be the last at UAL. Previously UAL had anticipated furloughing through March'04. This id great news for approximately 200 line pilots who would've been on the hook to be let go. It also points to larger than anticipated block hour numbers in '04. Good news all around.

Cheers,

Congrats to all those who expected a furlough but survived!!!

This is great news for all. To quote Steve Forte, "Becasue of your hard work and dedication, this company is getting stronger every day and reesablishing itself as a truly competitive enterprise."

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Way-to-GO guys and gals!!! All departments and divisions seem to be working together at last. Let's all keep up the good work. Whether you realize it or not, its actually a pleasure to come to work and care for some pretty wonderful loyal customers who believe in us, the work we do and the product we deliver. Unless you are coming to work at O dark 30, you probably have a smile on your face and are feeling pretty good about yourself and your job. We have a short way to go as yet, but we have turned the corner and are on the up-swing. We can be proud of ourselves and the job we have done in turning this ship around. What a Happy Thankgiving!!!

The end of the bleeding is good news of course. What is the final furlough tally and how far back does this take the new hire date?

Cheers to all

The bottom seniority # will be 7256. That lucky soul was hired on 09/28/98.
