Executive appointments

I don't believe anyone said he was evil.

He is incompetent. He is/was in charge of ops. ALL of ops which includes PHL. HE was totally responsible for the PHL meltdown and continues to be TOTALLY responsible for PHL and its associtated problems. Each and every operational fiasco is HIS responsibility. And he has done nothing to bring the operation to the level which results in profitablity.

We are profitable because of employee givebacks. And we will continue to make profits because of employee givebacks. And lower fuel costs. But the operation, Crelin's responsibility, is as poor as ever.

Why is he still here? Great question. I wish I had the answer. But he is not here based on merit or compentency.

And before you try to argue about it keep this in mind. I've been here over 30 years. I see this operation from the inside. Daily. It's been downhill since he took over and continues to be downhill.

He's incompetent. Don't know anything about his personality though. Only that he was a highway patrolman before PSA hired him.

I'm glad to see that they've put inflight under flight operations. I never understood f/a's being under marketing. Maybe Capt Ed will leave us crewed together, it is vastly superior than separate pairings for pilots and f/a's (I've done it both ways).
Didn't know you went both ways.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Well give him credit, he at least knows a good rack when he sees one  😀 BTW, Jonnyd I somehow get the feeling you wouldn't look so go with a nice rack 😀

Me neither! You should see some of the girls in Corp. Comm. on the 8th floor. Wow.

Hey Jonny is that "WOW" as in HOT?

Or WOW as in COW?

Illegitimi Non Carborundum my friend.

That's a wow as in HOT. There are quite a number of girls in the building who are absolutley gorgoeous. Remember, Arizona State is right around the corner!

Big pay raises all around, I'm sure.....or at least mucho stock options, at nifty strike prices. That way Dougie can say he didn't give anyone BIG raises, just enough raise to give them market rates........and then 2mill. in stock options...

Meanwhile, he looks at pay cuts for other groups.....while calling it...no no no.....it's cost neutral, because that's the way I see it in my reality. (I want some of what he's smoking)

As COO, Al Crellin will be rewarded in major stock options, bonus and salary. The guy should have lost his job in 2004. When he retires, his compensation will be beyond belief...with 30 years in the company.

Dougie is oblivious. He too is going to suck the company dry, and move on. If there would be a merger with UAL, I doubt he will be CEO, he maybe able to keep his Chairmanship on the Board. Another windfall for these guys....like hitting the lottery every single year while many of the employees are on the poverty line. The employees made way for a successful airline, and no reward for it.

You know I can't help but wonder why such venom is directed towards ONE person at US Airways? As time has passed I can't help but wonder why Al Crellin is the focal point of the rage on these boards?

Is it because when you work for him you're held accountable? I don't know I'm asking?

Is it because of his personality? I've never met the man.

The guy clearly has some skills. Having worked in larger corporations I know first hand that many people are promoted for myriad reasons, but sooner or later the goofballs are found out and off they go. Not so to date with Mr Crellin. So what gives?

Skill has nothing to do with it, my friend...its political. Many people get promoted due to cronism and politics.

What's his report card??? What's his claim to fame? DOT Stats is just one guage.
All one has to do is look at the operation 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005. And PHL operation is the worst in the system.

You should well know that by now.

In the entire aviation industry...is there no talent out there to find? Think about it...

When did Al Crellin become CHIEF Operating Officer?????
Mike Minerva Vice President of Legal????

Oh brother.
Things never change at USAirways...just keep promoting and recycling the same scums  in the airline.

It will only change when it is cost effective to do so. Employees can make it so, should they choose.

You have a moron, Ed Bular coupled with an incompetant fool, Al Crellin, not to mention, a doggie houser.

Why would anyone even think the present USAirways would be successful with such mindless cretins running the program?

We all gave concessions to let the short-bus people continue to have jobs.

Amazing.

Had a friend that had a couple of the best looking, smart and compentent secretaries I have ever seen. When asked how he managed that he replied: "You can hire a good looking secretary for the same price as a smart, compentent unattractive secretary."

My two days of interviewing with AWA involved alot of shuttling around and waiting from cafeteria, to simulator, to different rooms, etc. During all the shuttling around every time I glanced in a room with an open door I saw a set of legs in a skirt like you wouldn't believe. Thats no exageration, well only a teeny bit. I remember thinking, man I really do want to work here.

Even these days on an odd trip to headquarters, you seem to get to see quite a few hotties.

I can't speak to the legal guy but a lawyer is a lawyer. What else needs to be said.

Welll ..not much can be done about lawyers running legal ..I think that would be at least somewhat necessary.

This one was in Labor Relations and was involved in the concessions for the f/a group.

Mike did an excellent job with the f/a group. He has a great ability to work with the employees and know their needs. He was a true asset to the Labor Relations department at CCY. It was a pleasure watching him grow within the company. This is a much well deserved promotion. Congrats Mike!

Gee,

The consultant is drinking more koolaide.

Still lurking on here are we????

Know the f/as needs???? LOL....Mike was just like you...kniver, con man, exaggerater, unethical and not forthright. He learned how to kill labor, participate in destroying morale and play YOUR game.

He got V.P. for it. And you got a few Million.
