Interesting article. All F-14 will be shredded than risk the possibility that spare parts could fall into the hands of bad guys.

This seems a little wierd. How many Iranian F-14s are even still airworthy? Would shredding the stored airframes really be removing that bi of a security risk? Can you tell I'm an F-14 fan?

The Iranians started making their own parts years ago, and have developed quite an aerospace industry of their own. Would our parts make a difference? Yes. The Iranians could spend their money and time on more dangerous activities like blowing up embassies and training the muj er, Taliban to plant roadside bombs.
