Who says the flight attendants in the west guard the door with our arms crossed? That is stupid and strange! lol
Let me clarify this:
When the flight deck door is open (up in the air) we need to have one F/A "maintain a presence" between the passengers and the flight deck door. Another F/A may be trading places with a pilot, so there still needs to be someone else up front in that case. When the Flight Deck door is not open, the F/A neds to be in the forward cabin. The F/A could still be serving beverages or picking up trash. Just making sure the F/A is "maintaining a presence" and making sure there are no terrorist or strange passenger who will try to go in the cockpit while the door is open. Personally, I would prefer to block the aisle with the cart between the cockpit and cabin. But Helll.....no, do we cross our arms. That's too bizarre!
