A manager for American Airlines at O'Hare International Airport was charged this week with embezzling more than $3 million to fuel a lavish lifestyle, the FBI said Thursday.

Gary M. Aumann is alleged to have purchased numerous vehicles, riverfront property in Missouri and a 35-foot yacht, and made monthly payments to a dancer.

Aumann, a 39-year veteran at American and its facilities maintenance manager at O'Hare, directed in excess of $3 million in business toward companies owned by co-defendant Donald Down over the last five years, authorities said.

Agents this week seized property valued at more than $750,000, including 14 vehicles, three residences and several bank accounts, investigators said.

According to an FBI affidavit, Aumann made about $52,000 a year in his airline post, yet agents discovered he kept a Chicago-area condominium in addition to his home.

His expenses ran to about $15,000 a month, the agent reported, including making "monthly payments to a dancer in Missouri."

If he is a minority, he will get off.

I hear that! Gwonda Washington GM/BWI (African American) back in 03'/04' was budgeted money from AA to buy ramp equipment etc... She, pocketed the money. I think she was asked to leave/retire, I think she is doing something with Girl Scouts of America, but can't confirm that-

That fact is AA, is scared of the nAAcp, and Jessie jAAckson. AA will hardly ever expend money (court) when a minority is involved- , unless of course they have given them a zillion chances, to change, and have a air tight case. But, AA just doesn't want to spend the $$, and would rather tell them to move on, other than that that bend over...bahuka... 😛h34r:

Yes, AA has hired the best, and we (Labor) gave all these concessions to keep this terd afloat

Good thing these managers received the Bonus Payouts so they would not leave and go to work elsewhere. Retention of worthless bastards is top priority at AA.

yes it did!!!
<_< ------Thank you! My point was made! Race has nothing to do with greed!!!! But what else is new? It seems we stumbled on someone's "brother in law' deal a few years back. When we were doing MBV's here on 767's. The Inspection supervisor was reviewing the incoming paperwork for a fresh heavy "C" check, and happened to notice an entry that stated that all the Pneumatic ducting would have to come out, because it seems it was not heat treated properly by Boeing. Boeing had agreed to pay for it under warranty. But there was a notation, that because AA didn't have the tooling to do the job, it was to be "farmed out!"------- Well, guess what? It seem when AA came in here, and striped us of all our tooling, they overlooked some. The tooling they overlooked was exactly what was needed to do this job. It seems TWA had the same problem with our 747's. But instead of framing it out, we tooled up and did it in house. Well, Our local management contacted TUL, and informed them that we could do the job here, make the company $millions$.------ Their answer? You guessed it!------ Three weeks later they came out here and tore the tooling out, and scraped it!!!!!

To put it another way, the dumb-asses realize they have little to offer - they become "Team Players".

yes it did!!!

I will confirm that the maintenance regional manager and the station manager did indeed get off.

In fact, the financial terms of their departure packages has been kept very quiet. Those in the know are quite uncomfortable when the subject is brought up.

There was the staged bathroom graffiti incident that made the company very uncomfortable, which gave them some bargaining power over the company.

<_< ------- Are you saying that curtain Manager at LAX got away with it? My! My! My!-------AA didn't want to open that can of worms? In other-words they wanted to appear to be "politically correct"? Yet when a curtain Local Union V.P. pisses all over Our-Pay's Article 32, Our-Pay just ignores it!!!! Do I see a pattern here?

And what did our lovely TWU have to say about this? We pay them money to protect our jobs.
This is another perfect example to get rid of this useless union. I see more concessions coming.
I do not expect anything back next contract.

🙂 HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🙂

<_< ----Union? What Union?------ I feel that, at the time, they (AA management) didn't want to upset the boys in TUL/AFW, by putting work into MCI! Damn the fact that they were losing millions! I really don't think they realized how much money was involved here! And I really don't think hey cared!------ And I feel that that mindset is still in place!!!! -------- Oh yea! Happy New Year!

Those of us that were laid off from LAX because of these two guys and what they did to us will never forget.
