What's new

Farewell one more time.......

You know HP was a wonderful company pre merger...minus scabbing in Australia...Its such a shame but this video was well done 🙂 what was the music used?

it was nice until they killed it with the whole "help meeeee" bit.

yes is was heartfelt and then boom.......turned tacky.

Did the producer of the video forget that Maureen McGovern's "Morning After" was the theme song to "The Poseidon Adventure"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Poseidon sink? Foreshadowing?

AWA was only a "Great" Airline until 1994. After that, things went sour, and the evil mgmt took over. The only legacy HP will have are the employees that remained commited all these years. 😉

🙄 First let me say…..I produced the video. As for the remarks about the tacky part….after I put it together and posted it (the first time) I was contacted by a university who wanted to use it in one of their classes…so Tacky “noâ€￾…. just how I felt at the time. Let’s face it…the old US Air was about 19 to 30 days to becoming the new TWA. Just a memory…..with bits and pieces becoming collectables. (If you think I’m wrong…..prove it) Anyway…..I have the AWA connection…..so “My production…my wayâ€￾
Now as for the music…..that song was NOT written for the movie…so get over yourself. Really it was originally an inspirational song…..that it doesn’t matter what happen in life there is always a morning after. The trouble with a lot of people who are involved in this merger……is they just want to be angry and find fault with everything. This VIDEO was produced for the AWA folks. It was produced away from the company…I was asked to help with the AWA Co. video…but to be honest…they really didn’t want my help and I was treated ( in my eyes) like a second thumb….so I did this by myself…..on my own time….and a lot of time…with tears in my eyes. So to all the AWA folks…. “Iâ€￾ am and always will be proud of you. “THERE IS ALWAYS A MORNING AFTERâ€￾

Prove something that didn't happen, wow, that's hard.

Well now I take back what I said!!! And "z" you nor any other employee have no clue how far US was from extinction just like no one knows how far AW was. Also, if a school wanted to use it then they would probably want "your" emotion of US left out. I actually really enjoyed the video and had saved it to show all of my friends, but because of your comments above it's now in the Trash Can. It's a fact that US had shrunk to less than half the size that it was but that was because of poor management and no plan B, it in no way reflects the tears and sacrifices of the employees and what they had to endure during that shrinking. The company itself might have shrunk but at least there was enough to shrink (60,000 employees, 400 aircraft) and the employees brains didn't shrink with it, for that matter at least there were brains to shrink. Oh yeah you left out of your little folksy video where the FAA was lurking around in the late 90's, early 00's because of unsafe maintenance practices.hmmm. how did that happen??? What about the airplanes that AW couldn't take delivery of because of it??

What's the big deal with the video? It's a bunch of pictures pasted together and thrown on youtube or whateva. A school couldn't do that themselves? A fifth grader could produce that........

As a matter of fact they said it was one of the best transitional videos they had seen in a long time....Sour grapes on your part I fear. As for US being almost gone....DO YOU EVER READ THE WSJ.....???? Did anyone take the time to do a video for USA.....??? Why not if you have such a great history....maybe that will be my next video. Have any music I could put in it....?

Z,
I thought the video and music were very nice, personally I couldn't have put anything like that together myself. I think what kind of ticked people off was the "incredible shrinking airline" bit at the end. I actually have had this video saved on my computer since it first came to my attention back in '05 or '06 and I've enjoyed watching it from time to time, however I always cut it off at the end when that part comes up and personally have always kind of let it go and chose not to acknowledge it. Personally if I could make one of those I would put an AWA plane dressed up in Sanford and Son at the end since that's how I feel about AWA but I won't because I don't think that the AWA employees deserve that nor would it be appreciated after all of their hard work and sacrifices.
