A flight attendant was removed from a plane and arrested at Blue Grass Airport because she was allegedly drunk.

The airport confirmed Monday that its public safety officers arrested Sarah Mills, 26, of Atlanta, on charges of terroristic threatening, alcohol intoxication and violating a law against being a crew member of an airplane while drunk. That charge was subject to a review by the Federal Aviation Administration.

FAA spokeswoman Laura Brown said the agency was investigating and had no comment.

The Fayette County Detention Center listed Mills as an inmate who was being held without bond on the FAA charge. Mills was scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon in Fayette District Court.

Delta officials canceled the Sunday flight to Atlanta because there weren't enough crew members, but passengers were allowed to board other flights, said Kate Modolo, spokeswoman for Atlantic Southeast Airlines, the carrier operating the Delta flight.

She must have got perturbed from flying on an US East flight prior to working her bid ;)

Why don't you concentrate on flying your pathetic airline they call MESA, and mind you own business. Maybe this person had a problem. Many pilots too, have made a mistake with drinking!! Making it a joke is not funny here, or on US Airways forum. You can only hope you will be hired by a real Major carrier someday.

This is a shame, and indeed is a problem throughout the aviation industry. I knew people at US who had serious problems, and it is nothing to laugh about. I hope Delta cares enough about their employees to get her the help she needs. If they just fire her and send her to the streets, this young woman may very well be an alcholic forever. Hopefully, Delta will help her to rehabilitate and give her a second chance. We all deserve 2nd chances sometimes.

Just to clarify, this was an ASA flight attendant, not Delta. ASA is a wholly owned sub of Skywest now.

and why don't you get a REAL union at your podunk regional? OH WAIT...that's right...OO is too stingy!

Hopefully, she will go into in-patient rehab for 30 days and learn how to stay in recovery.

This will ruin her life and follow her everywhere she goes unless she embraces a alcohol free life.

My prayers go out to her and her family.

You know, we don't know if she is an alcoholic. And, from the information we have so far, she legally wasn't even drunk. What we know is that she violated FAA regulations by having a drink within 8 hours of flight duty. (Well, that and the fact that she told the captain "You're dead." Bad choice of words.)

People who drink on the job may or may not be alcoholics. If every person who drank on the job (or at any inappropriate time) was labelled an alcoholic, AA would be overrun by salesmen who have to entertain clients as part of their work, and by airline executives.

People who drink on the job are alcoholics. If they can't hold off drinking for thier job, they are an alcoholic.
If a person can't stop drinking within the FAR's, they are an alcoholic. If a person busts FAR's and shows their ass in front of customers....they are an alcoholic and have anger issues.

She needs serious help and I hope she gets it.

You are insane.

Change "can't stop drinking" with " a 26 year old made a bad decision to have a drink" and you have to come to a different conclusion besides she's an alcoholic.

If you set up a poll asking how many members have driven a car after having 1 or more drinks in their lives or never have, I'll bet you'll get near 100% affirming the former.

As far as anger issues, isn't that a typical response from an imature 26 yo whose career just evaporated?

Or, maybe she will learn that actions have consequences. BTW, to those of us in the oldest 12-step program, if you are an alcoholic at all, you are an alcoholic forever. It doesn't matter whether you are drinking or not.

Very true -- didn't mean to be insensitive. Let me rephrase -- this young woman might very well be a practicing alcoholic forever.

Whether or not she is an alcoholic by its true definition is a mute point. If she CLAIMS to be one to the company, there might be union protection to rehabilitate her and keep her job. Might be her only chance of saving her career and her a$$.
