Flight attendant VEO requests

Interestingly enough, if you look at the breakdown by seniority you will see that nearly half the people taking the veop are between 20 and 30 years. The cats will be fine.

That's a relief.

But now I'm concerned about not getting to watch Madonna Concert videos in the galley at 3 am during a lav visit.

1425 as of yesterday evening and an HI6 message from the company stated that they don't anticipate any furloughs.

LOL of course they don't expect furloughs...they are so short f/as that they recalled all leaves and remaining furloughed. Threat threat, panic panic... Wait until you have to work under the contract with no language....

United isn't in bankruptcy.

In any event, you're exaggerating again. According to the AFA, UA offered its FAs $2,400 per year of seniority up to a max of $60k (not $75k):

UAL doesnt have 500 new planes on order either.

The mechanics were offered $75k. From what I heard not enough took it.

I guess a lot of mechanics feel that they know where they are, they know what they are doing, and nobody can make them work harder than they feel like working. So they choose to stay and ride it out but make no mistake the airlines are paying more than they would if they just paid them right to start with. The difference in results between a mechanic who is putting in his time and one who actively enjoys the challenges are hard for the bean counters to identify, even after the fact when the numbers dont land where he expected them to. If your employees are defeated, demoralized and working two jobs to get by how do you think they will approach the challenges that the company who brought them to the bottom of the industry puts in front of them? Sure there will be a lot of creating numbers saying how great we are doing but if they dont care, they dont care, no amount of propaganda is going to motivate them into thinking "Well I should just go with the flow and buy into all their Ra Ra BS".

While the numbers of those taking the EO are higher for the FAs I suspect that they arent what the company expected. I think they were hoping to be able to start bringing in New Hires off the street that never knew of a better time and would leave after a few years.

As of this morning, the company reports that 1,624 Flight Attendants have requested the Voluntary Early Out Program (VEOP).

nbmcg01... I agree with you 100%! They have no clue what hell they are about to endure! It will be 10 years of HELL!! Just so you know, the $40,000 will be around $26,000 after taxes. That should last for a few months. The YES voters should get out now while they can. Otherwise it will be a double whammy for them. 10 years of AA hell and 10 years of NO voter HELL!

Yea I agree , theres going to be alot of fas who are going to wish they had taken it when they had the chance! Its amazing how many fas dont even have a computer and dont know what is about to happen. I cant believe how many dont even know how to bid! There are alot of ex Eastern and Pan Am who are still on reserve who are going to be shocked!
