I was told by Preferred Gold that the reason the 7:30 and 8:30 PHL-BOS were cancelled was because of crew - although they didn't elaborate.

According to Flightstats.com, there had been 26 cancellations when I checked about 11:30. IIRC, it was somewhere around 7% of departures at that point.

Many of the cancellations are on the Shuttle. 7 departures from LGA are cancelled so far including both the 8 and 9 pm to DCA making the 1900 departure the last one. From DCA to LGA 3 out of the last 4 are canclled, the 6,7,and 9 only the 8 is operating.

Heard from agents at Phl that 16 flights were cancelled this morning. Rough day for travelling on the east coast.

Not encouraging anything, but strategically picking the Shuttle and hub-to-hub flights would have quite an effect.

The Acela is such a civilized way to travel. If I were paying for transportation between BOS-NYC-WAS, I would opt for the train every time. But even the Acela doesn't beat a free pass ride on a shiny jet airplane (but ONLY if it's free.)

Had a Shuttle 1 day today, 4 legs at 1145. The whole trip was canceled. Was told be scheduling they had no pilots for the trip. So 4 shuttle legs right there.

Double...what do you think? NO! But The pilots have to do, what they have to do. I do feel for the customers though!

the customers can get over it...the employees need to do what they need to do...I would just call Tempe and go off on them, not the pilots...oh, by the way....can you get me a vodka and tonic with a lime and hang up my coat? thanks, dear
