With ALL due respect to everyone at US, ANY job action which affects the customers and reliability of service is unacceptable to the customer...PERIOD....You won't be hurting management, you will be hurting yourselves in the long run.

Art, it is the only thing Tempe understands. The employees take action, customers take action, Tempe loses money. Those people booking away are not booking away because of what the employees have done, they are booking away because of the way Tempe has treated customers and employees. period. now is not the time to give employees a guilt trip for them doing what they believe they need to do. things are not getting better and will not unless Tempe sees a real impact to its bottomline. Maybe Tempe will call the bluff of the employees, maybe the employees will have the last word this time...i guess we'll see how it works out but the employees cannot feel like they are hostages to a company that is making money and turning its back on its employees and customers.

I give up.....still bickering and fingerpointing...........

Come on, doesn't ANYONE have an idea how to fix this?

NOPE!! Like you I give up!! I don't give a good GD anymore! I do my job and go home. And they all won't go. At 85% capacity, leisure fares will pull us thru. If I were yoou I would FFOCUS on yourself and get the hell away from this place.

I cared and cared and cared. Nobody listens if you DO suggest anything. All you get on the East is "your entitled". Where do you go with such stupidity?

For the first time I really am thinking of leaving but I'm sure an ovation will come from the west and a resounding dont let the door hit you on the way out..as those assholes in Tempe have no time or regard for anyone 20 yrs or more and frankly, Im tired of making the same yearly amount for the last 5 yrs. At 44, one should go UP in pay, not down. Oh excuse me, I'm entitled.

US1YFARE,

Sorry to disagree, but it is no longer about Tempe. It is about the long term viability of US Airways at this point, and although I do sympathize, it appears that Tempe is not to blame here, and that they cannot fix it either.

So my original question remains unanswered...HOW can this be fixed if at all???????

According to your post, then, is it okay for this performance to continue, driving customers away by the thousands? What will that accomplish?

If I recall correctly the issue in this particular case is with ALPA not with Tempe--so why the job actions?

I see the point--everyone would rather fight than fix this...well, I think you will find out that your customers want no part of that....

The systemic low morale at US-East is a direct result of Tempe. You are not looking at the big picture. You are linking one event to what is currently happening and I don't see it that way. You are ignoring what Tempe has done over the past 2 years. The airline is imploding and they lit the fuse.

social security is right around the corner 😉

Oh SHUT UP already on the entitlement bullshiit!!. That is all of some of you can drag out when the east doesn't kiss your f :censored: asses!!

You know, you wanna talk about entitled? Entitled is a 1-5 year employee who thinks he/she leap ahead of those senior to them but would pitch a big ole biitch fit if anyone attempted to interfer with their time of service.

One word....HYPOCRITES!!!!

"Well I guess that will just about cover the fly-bys".

The only difference was the character played by Tom Skerrit (Viper) was portrayed as a rational, level- headed independent leader, unlike the poster you referenced, call sign LCC#1. Heck, that handle has "stooge" written all over it!

I do not recall this kind of bickering during the PS-US and US-PI mergers. Granted USAviation.com wasn't around then, but I do not recollect the hostility that seems to permeate this "marriage".

Up to the point of the arbitration ruling, it was the same as the PI/US merger. Since then however, it has change dramatically

oh the bickering was there at US/PI. It was just in your face, since there wasn't a site like this... We had to prepare ourselves for verbal warfare when we went to work.. The south sometimes isn't so nice!!

I have received 10 emails in the past hour--people are leaving, and are booking away from US. Is this what you want?

With ALL due respect to everyone at US, ANY job action which affects the customers and reliability of service is unacceptable to the customer...PERIOD....You won't be hurting management, you will be hurting yourselves in the long run.

Until someone can prove to me that it is getting better, and that I can count on getting where I need to go reliably, I will be booking elsewhere--and I have heard that at least 100 of my members will be doing the same....so if this is what you want you got it.

I can't imagine any employees maintianing that there is any reason you should continue to pay for a service from a company if you are not satisfied with what you receive.

Best of luck to you at your new company.

So, the East didn't lose anything. They actually gained a lot by not having to start over at another airline.
This arrogant thought is getting so old. You guys in the West should get over yourselves. This merger saved both airlines. But it looks like it is all for nothing. You guys are in the self-destruction mode. Partially because of the seniority issue. Keep it up....the more you snibble about things the better I feel for leaving.

hahaha...I get such a kick out of reading this board...US is the ultimate LCC...low class carrier..." we should all just be glad tempe is allowing us to work for such a wonderful and devisive company....we should do everything humanely possible to save our passengers , at any cost or sacrifice...hahaha...funny stuff....as emloyees we are the LOWEST compensated at ANY carrier in the country, even though our fantastic talented, compassionate, fair, concerned management team is among the highest compenstaed in the industry...why shouldnt we be willing to bend over for the security of this wonderful comapny...hahaha...Im busting a gut!!!

Actually I don't think a 5 year employee leaps ahead of anyone. If you were a junior CA at U than you are a junior CA at LCC. If you are a senior FO at AWA than you are a senior FO at LCC. A furlough getting recalled in front of a bunch of active pilots does seem like a leap ahead though. And please, I don't expect either side to kiss anyone's asses. How about we try to get a better and more lucrative contract?

Let's see 160 East pilots will have been upgraded through July this year even with reductions. They all just got a 35% raise. Who knows, maybe another 50 this year and a few hundred next year. 400-500 people getting a 35% in two years is better than getting a low ball contract(management knows the unity score)FO raise due to slotting. How many more to be getting 35% raises via upgrades in the couple of years following that. Not to mention the QoL issues of holding a line vs reserve and larger aircraft opportunity. Pilots like movement, and there is movement on the East side because of "their attrition." Is it so hard to see, that a substandard joint contract doesn't even come close. With the way things have disintegrated due to Nicalou, it would be foolish to think there is better to be had. Your management surely know better. Who can blame the East pilots for going it alone?

Pilots meeting affects flights

US Airways said 58 flights were canceled yesterday due to crew shortages, as about 200 US Airways pilots attended a meeting hosted by the executive council of the national Air Line Pilots Association in Herndon, Va. Unions representing the old US Airways and America West Airlines gave presentations, with the America West pilots arguing that a seniority list issued recently by a federal arbitrator should stand and the pilots from the old US Airways urging ALPA to throw out the ruling, saying it was unfair to the pilots who have sacrificed through two bankruptcies. No decision was reached by ALPA.
